Wolf's Oath

Lycaon could feel the eyes of everyone they passed watching him and he could hear the whispers as the greek and roman demigods filled in their colleagues on who exactly the strange man was being escorted by four members of the security team on the way to Percy's office along with Artemis and Gillian. His eyes shifted from side to side nervously, he had never seen any group of demigods like this before, and being separated from his pack again so soon put him on edge.

Artemis kept glancing sideways at Lycaon as they walked, despite her initial instincts to trust him and to bring the pack of werewolves to STAR Base she now wasn't so sure. The longer that Artemis was with him, and the more she thought back on their history together, the more unsure she became of her actions. She could also feel Percy's disproving attitude, the look he had given her when he greeted the returning agents had made Artemis shiver and feel guilty, something she wasn't accustomed to feeling with anyone other than perhaps her father. Artemis could also feel the eyes of the other agents boring into her as she walked, making her skin crawl.

Percy led the group through the long concrete halls of STAR Base, his head and eyes straight forward with a calm but commanding look on his face. He walked in perfect military lockstep, each footfall making a sharp noise on the floor, reinforcing the stern and commanding attitude. As they reached the end of the final hallway, Percy swiftly opened the door and held it open as the others walked in. Percy eyed Lycan as he stepped into the office, he confidently held himself but Percy could see Lycaon's eyes darting back and forth and his fingers fidgeting at his side.

"You two wait out here," Percy told the two members of the security team who had been the farthest back in the procession. The pair nodded and took up position on either side of the door. Percy swiftly spun on his heel and silently walked to his desk and took his seat, Annabeth and Piper standing on either side of him.

"Everyone sit" Percy commanded in a quiet but stern tone. Miles and Nico sat on the couch on Percy's right while Artemis and Gillian sat on the couch to Percy's left. Lycaon stood awkwardly in between the two, clearly uncomfortable, Percy noticed the werewolf king's indecision and motioned to a simple wooden chair in one corner of the room "You can pull that seat over if you would like Lord Lycaon" Percy said in a diplomatic but not overly friendly tone.

Lycaon went to the corner and picked up the chair and began to move it to in between the two couches, facing towards Percy, painfully aware of the dead silence that had filled the room. One of the legs of the chair scraped against the floor, the noise-making Lycaon flinch slightly as he put the chair down and took his seat. As he sat Lycaon tried to put on his sternest face as he turned to face Percy, but even Lycaon was slightly off-put by Percy's cold stare as the werewolf meet the demigod's eyes.

Percy waited patiently for Lycaon to take his seat before looking over at Gillian, refusing to even make eye contact with Artemis "Agent Reese, please debrief us" he said plainly as a large screen on the wall blinked to life, showing the overhead map of the compound before the operation

Gillian stood up quickly and walked over to the screen "We arrived at the initial LZ at approximately 1800hrs yesterday, I then sent out Agents Lee and Grace to perform recon on the compound in preparation for our raid. The recon team observed that the personnel at the compound appeared to be increasing security, specifically around this white metal Quonset hut. They also observed that there was about two or three time the number of security personnel than we had been lead to believe" Gillian explained, her tone stern but she shifted side to side nervously, she had never seen Percy like this "Upon the recon team's return we decided to split up to best cover all our objectives. My team and I infiltrated the main building and proceeded to wipe all of their servers and destroy any physical documents that we could find. Task Force Hunter was split into two teams, the first team would make their way to the Quonset hut and determine what was in there while the other team would wait to the north of the compound as a reserve in case things went wrong. I also positioned Agents Lee and Grace on the ridge to the south as overwatch. At 0230hrs we began our assault, everything was going fine and Artemis had managed to discover that the three subjects that were being held by the J. T. Institute were in fact werewolves. As we began to make our exit, Lycaon and his pack arrived and began a full-on attack on the compound" Gillian finished as she turned to look at Percy who was studying the map silently
