A New Life (Sunday part two)

Brandon's Point of View

I walk home silently, as I think about Nikki and that conversation we had. I love her, but I'm starting to think I'm being to protective. Maybe I'm overreacting. She wouldn't leave me. Then again, if she wasn't happy with me, and wanted to love someone else, wouldn't it be better to let her go?

I sigh. I didn't really want to think about that. It's late Sunday
afternoon, and I just want to sit on my bed and read for a little while. Think about other things. Maybe I'll think about Nikki's birthday coming up.

She wouldn't tell me the exact date, since she likes to mess with my brain sometimes.... However, she did tell me that she was a Gemini, so I plan to get a birthday present together really soon.

I still don't know what to get, though. I should know her well enough now, I know that. I just want to get her something she'll enjoy wholeheartedly, and that she will really love.

Maybe I should but her a nice sketchbook. No, she probably has a lot of those. I'm not sure!

This frustration is really getting to me. Maybe I should just forget it for awhile and read. That should clear my mind a bit.

Before I can get to my book, my phone starts ringing. I pick it up and see the name, and I see that it's Chloe calling.

I wonder why, and answer the phone.

Chloe: "Hey, Brandon! Zoey, the guys, and I wanted to know if you wanted to come over so you could help work on a surprise we have for Nikki's birthday! You in?"

Well, there goes my reading plans. It's for Nikki, though, so I suppose it's okay. It'll be fun to hang out with them and come up with more ideas for Nikki's birthday present.

Brandon: "Okay. I'm in."

Chloe: "Great! See you in 20?"

I check my watch. I got time to change into more casual clothes and get over there. It's not too far.

Brandon: "Sure. More or less."

Chloe: "Awesome. Bye!"

I say good bye to her and hang-up. Time to go, I guess.
