Nikki's Point of View

I bring Brandon into my room, and I sit down on the bed. I smile. I had spent over an hour or maybe even two making sure my room was spotless when he saw it. My carpet was soft and now smelling great thanks to my air freshener. My bed was tucked in perfectly (after many, many, failed attempts) and my entire room was organized. My diary was safely tucked under my bed in a shoebox I found along with my favorite pen.

I have the pictures I wanted to show him stacked neatly on my desk, and I'm excited and nervous to show him.

He smiles at me, and I think he's blushing. He hasn't blushed that hard for quite awhile. I wonder why. Am I wearing something weird? I ponder, my elbow sitting on my knee now, my chin cupped in my hand.

Brandon: "I like your room, Nikki. It's nice."

Nikki: "Thanks."

I get up and grab his hand. He seems to blush harder. I raise my eyebrow. He smiles, but it seems nervous.

Nikki: "Something wrong?"

Brandon: "Not at all."

I can tell something is up, but I look at him for awhile and then figure he'll tell me when he's ready.

Nikki: "Time to show you my drawings."

I smile. I'm kind of nervous to show him, but I know I shouldn't be.

Brandon: "Okay."

I bring him to my desk and sit him down in my desk chair. I playfully spin him around and he chuckles.

Brandon: "I didn't know I came to get on a merry-go-round." (Author Note-I'm sorry if I misspelled merry-go-round.)

I just laugh and grab the pictures from the desk and spin the desk chair so he's facing me. I hold the pictures out in front of me, as if I'm holding an important presentation, and smile.

Nikki: "This is my first one."

I look down nervously, I hope he likes it.

It's an elegant picture of a garden full of flowers and butterflies, and a single rose is in the middle of the garden. The rose is so deeply red and bright, it stands out very well. The colors all clash in a wonderful array of color that is hard to tear your eyes away from. I don't usually do these types of pictures, but I wanted to do something beautiful.

I look up and Brandon's eyes are wide, and I can tell he's awed. I'm so happy.

Suddenly, he laughs, and I look at him quizzically.

Brandon: "I always knew that you had more talent in your smallest burp than-"

I stop him and raise my hand, and my face feels flushed and hot. I give him a glare.

Nikki: "Do. Not. Finish. That. Sentence."

He chuckles and I can't help but laugh with him. Still, I can't believe he remembered something from so long ago.

Brandon: "I remember that, looking at your drawings. You were as awesome then as you are now."

I give him a comical look of shock.

Nikki: "So I haven't gotten any better?"

His eyes widen at this.

Brandon: "Nikki....you know that's not what I meant."

Brandon's blushing now, and I smile for a second. I sigh and put a hand over my chest, tossing the pictures on my bedside table. I pretend to sigh mournfully.

Nikki: "No, it's okay Brandon, I understand. I should have known,"

Brandon: "Nikki-"

I cut him off short.

Nikki: "What must I do to improve? How I can I be worth it?"

As a final gesture in my act, I flop on the bed on my back, my hand over my forehead dramatically, my eyes closed. Finally, I sigh, ending my performance.

He rolls his eyes and I hear him walking towards me. I open one eye and stare up at him as he approaches me. He looks down at me and smiles softly.

He flops down on my bed next to me and turns to his side, so we are face to face.

I feel hear rise to my face as he stares at me, and my heart pounds. I can hear the clock ticking away and I feel like the room is so silent as we look into each other's eyes you could hear a pen drop.

He leans closer to my face, and before I know it, I lean into him, and I'm kissing him. His lips are soft, as they always are, except this time they are searching mine with such determination and ferocity they remind me of the first kissed we'd had. My hands get lost in his beautiful hair and his hands in my hair, and it feels so right I don't ever want it to end.

Finally, we let go of one another to take a breath, and he smiles at me. He whispers so silently that you had to be an inch away from him to hear, which I was..

Brandon: "I love you."

I smile, and my heart feels like it's about to explode from the rush if today's events. I whisper to him in between breaths.

Nikki: "I....love you too, Brandon."

His eyes light up, and so do mine.

We could've laid down there for hours, and I still wouldn't have cared in the least. He was amazing. The type of guy you hear of from fairy tales. But not obnoxious, I think to myself.

I laugh and break the silence at the thought of him being my prince on a gallant white horse.

He looks at me quizzically as I giggle, but I just smile and kiss him again.
