Chapter 25

I love you

~Jughead's POV~

B-" I love you too ."  My eyes widened . J-"What ?" She smiled and said B-" I love you Jughead Jones ." A smile formed across my face.  J-" Really?"  I asked, still in shock . She nodded. J-'' I love you Betty Cooper ." I said and pulled her into a passionate long loving kiss . 

We slowly pulled away . We both were smiling.  She has the most beautiful smile in the world . J-" Betts , why did you say 'I love you too' at first ?" I asked curiously. B-" I heard you last night ." J-" Oh" I said quietly and looked down . My cheeks were turning red . She laughed and said B-" Ohhhh, is Jughead Jones blushing ." She said making fun off . J-" Not funny "  I said, turning away and still not making eye contact with her . 
She grabbed my hand and turned me back to face her , but I was still looking at my feet . She placed finger under my chin and made me look into her eyes . B-" You don't have to hide anything, not in front of me ."  J-" Isn't something that I should tell you ."  B-" Well it goes for both of us ."  J-" okay."  I said smiling.  

[ Few days later ]

Betty settled down in my trailer.  I spend most of the time with her at the trailer. I only go to the cooper house once or twice in two weeks  to sleep at night .  Betty had started to work at the White Wyrm with Toni . I  still hadn't told my dad about all this .  

Betty and I are getting closer day by day.  She is also getting connected with the serpents. They all really love her . 
We are still working on my dad's case . And today we have got a new lead . After a few days of research we got the phone number of the owner of the gun . And now we are trying to track and identify the phone owner. 

J-"So did you track the phone ."  I asked Sweet pea . S-" Yeah we tracked . The last location was at an abandoned house near Greendale.  We went there to check it , but there was nothing."  I sigh, frustrated and disappointed. B-" And what about the identity. Did you get a name or something?"  Betty asked . S-" No . The only identity we have is 'BC' . "  Sweet pea said disappointingly.  

J-" Ahhhh Fuck!"  I shouted and  threw the pen stand at the wall in frustration. Everyone flinched  . I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Betty's. B-" Jug" she said quietly. J-" What?!"  I shouted at her . Making her flinch and taking her hand off my shoulder. She took a step back . B-" Calm down jug . I know you are frustrated,  everyone is . But we all are trying our best ."  She said, trying to calm me down . J-" You think so . If we are trying our best then Why can't we find anything , huh?!" I said, still shouting at her . She flinched again B-" Jug I know this is frustrating , but you can't just shout at everyone because you are frustrated . We all know how much you love your dad and how you want to protect him . But you have to understand it takes time to solve  things like this ."   J-" No Betty you don't understand how it feels like to protect the only family member left in your life. And you can't.  Because your family doesn't love you or care about you !! "  I shouted at her .  

After a few moments my face softened and  I  realized what I said . She was hurt . She has tears forming in her eyes . J-"Betty I-" she interrupted me and said B-" You are right I don't have I don't understand. "  she said and strom out of my office . J-" Betty wait " I shouted and ran after her . But till I got down she was gone . T-" You're a dick jones ." Toni said .  F-" Really jug , she's literally working her ass off to help you and this is how you thank her ."  SP-" I didn't expect this from you , Jones ."  They all said and left . They all looked very disappointed.  

After they left I started looking for Betty . I tried to call her but she was not picking up her phone . I looked at our trailer but she was not there . I tried asking Archie,  Veronica and Kevin but they all didn't hear from her . I looked everywhere possible.  I looked at pops . I looked at school.  I even went to the cooper house , but she was not there either .

Then it hit me ,  the Sweetwater River . I rode my motorcycle to Sweetwater river .  I walked to her special spot . And there she was sitting alone , looking at the water. I went near her and I could see tears flowing down her cheeks . I feel so guilty.  I slowly sat near her. She kept looking at the water . J-" I'm  sorry betty. I'm so sorry for everything. "  I said and tried to place my hand on her but she flinched at my touch . Now I realize how scared she is of me . J-" I'm sorry Betty for shouting at you . I'm sorry for taking my frustration out on you . I'm sorry for shouting all that shit . I'm so sorry . "  I said, apologizing.  She slowly faced me and said B-" It's okay.  I forgive you ." She said and smiled . My eyes widened.
J-" What really?"  My voice cracked a little  . I was surprised . B-" Really. " She smiled . 
J-" Just like that ?"  I said . A smile forming across my face B-" Just like that ." B-" But you have to promise me one thing , that you wouldn't shout at me . It reminds me of my dad ."  She said looking in my eyes . J-" I promise.  I swear I will never shout at you ." I said . I took her hand and slowly kissed it . J-" I love you ."  B-" I love you ."  I kissed her softly . B-" And next time don't even try to shout at me kr else I'll knock you out ." She said jokingly J-"You got Cooper." I said in agreement. She smiled at me and hugged me . I hugged her back lightly, like my life depends on her.

God I have the best girlfriend in the world . I  love her the most . She is the love of my life . And I'll never forgive myself for hurting her.
