Chapter 2:
A Not So Boring School Day
That dream really messed up my sleep that night, I essentially only had around two hours sleep, and I had to be up at 6am. So as you can tell: I'm tired. But Lena always makes me a coffee in the morning, mostly due to me working with Vandhaul.
"Morning Lux," Lena said, passing me my own Chelsea England Football Team Mug, "You sleep okay?"
"Kind of," I said, "It was peaceful for around two hours, the rest, nightmares and staying awake."
"What was the nightmare about?" Lena asked,
"It was one of those Demigod nightmares." I explained,
"The ones that either have you talking to one of the gods or seeing something extremely dangerous that is happening while asleep?" Lena asked,
"Essentially," I said, "Yea."
"Not good when you have school today." Lena said,
"But he has to go in." Vandhaul said, "And I'm gonna take it, you're going to Percy's first?"
"Yea." I said,
"I might not like how he beat my Dad," Vandhaul added, "But he seems like a genuinely nice kid. So finish your coffee quickly, get ready and get going."
I finished my coffee and got ready for school, packed my bag and headed off to Percy's apartment.
The New York streets were quite calm in the morning. Stores opening up ready for the day, not many people going to work today either, many must be recovering from their midnight drinking parties. Either way, it only took me half an hour to get to Parcy's home. Percy's mother, Sally opened the door the second I knocked,
"Early this morning Lux." She said,
"Yea," I said, walking inside, "It was quite peaceful since summer started for many people last night. So getting here was much easier than normal."
Sally placed some Waffles on the table. Enough for myself, her and Percy. Percy entered when she did.
"Morning sweetie," Sally said to Percy, Percy looked glum, like he had a terrible dream too,
"Morning Mom," He replied,
"You good Percy?" I asked, "Looks like you had a nightmare." Percy gave me a look that screamed 'yes I did', "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours."
"Yours first," He said,
"Okay," I said, "My nightmare was essentially Luke with someone called Arkham. Arkham was talking about Mundus and Kronos. The two seem to have some kind of deal. On top of that, Luke definitely looks more dangerous, so does Arkham. Even though he looks like a demon Mr. Clean."
We both smiled and laughed at that, we then ate our waffles, then Percy explained his dream,
"Grover is in trouble I think." He explained, "I think something scary got to him in Florida, what was weird is that I've never been to Florida."
"G got his Searcher's License when he helped you complete your quest right?" I asked, he then nodded, "So he could've got himself in trouble with a Cyclops. One of the biggest reasons for disappearing Satyrs is because of Cyclops. However, it's their best lead. So they go for it." Percy's expression darkened, "Don't worry though," I continued, "G is smart on his feet. He'll try to last as long as possible until he saves you."
"Yea, anyway," Percy said, "Remind me who Mundus is?"
"Mundus is a Demonic God, Percy," I explained, "One that is heavily tied to my family, I'm more than your standard Demigod, I hold demonic blood."
