"IT SHOWS WHAT YOU'VE SURVIVED"
After the instructions were given to the group, all the rooms on the ship had been locked from the outside, only being opened to receive necessities throughout the day.
This routine continued for around a month and Milo hadn't been sleeping well at all.
His only priority was to look over and protect Bonnie.
Although they were locked in their room, Milo couldn't help but worry for her well-being.
However, one positive to the lockdown was that Milo's wound was able to really heal and was now almost nothing but a scar.
While everyone slept, all four of them squished onto the same bed while Milo was painfully awake, staring into space.
His hand slipped under his shirt and his fingers ran along the jagged skin.
Carefully, he sat up and crept towards the bathroom, trying not to wake the others lost in their dreams.
Milo stood in front of the mirror.
He leaned forward and studied the nicks on his face.
He had a small scar over the bridge of his nose and another on his cheekbone.
Then he leaned back and raised the bottom of his shirt, pulling it up towards his chin.
He stared at the scar that stretched across his ribs.
Although the pain had subsidised, the memories of it were still fresh.
Some nights, he swore he could feel his skin tear like it did in the moment.
'Now I'm stuck with these gross blemishes', he thought, disappointed in his new bodily aspect.
He could feel new insecurities well up in his brain, causing his stomach to turn.
He let out a sigh.
He was covered in them.
"Milo?", a graceful voice called out.
Milo flinched at the sudden call.
However, he didn't bother to turn around, he could see her through the reflection.
There stood Bonnie, dressed in one of his shirts, her blond hair tousled by sleep.
"Shit, did I wake you up?", he wondered.
Bonnie shook her head.
"Are you okay?", she asked, she could sense his anxieties.
Wordlessly, he nodded.
"I saw what you were looking at", she announced her voice low.
"You did?", he replied.
Bonnie stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his waist and slipped her hands under his shirt.
