Jungkook rubs at his arm, scraped up and bruised and sniffling, shifting his weight from foot to foot as he patiently waits for Seokjin to open the door. He knows the door code by heart, but for some reason this time feels intrusive, like he needs to ask permission for help.

There’s the muted sound of footsteps drawing closer, the beep of a security code, and then the door is opening and a sleepy Seokjin is standing in front of him, wearing a thin white t-shirt and pajama pants with fluffy clouds printed all over them.

No...Jungkook squints a bit..they’re alpacas, he realizes, with happy faces and cute little ears.

He almost smiles, but he looks up and sees Seokjin giving him a once over and taking in all of his injuries, and he just feels bad.

He feels guilty that Seokjin’s automatic reaction to seeing Jungkook at his door is concern, even if it is warranted.

'Come on'
He sighs, stepping aside and holding the door open.

Jungkook walks into the warmth of Seokjin’s apartment, heading to the kitchen like he knows Seokjin expects him to.

It’s almost routine now, whenever he gets banged up on the job and it’s not severe enough to warrant a hospital visit, he goes to Seokjin’s home.

Jungkook didn’t want to intrude, but Seokjin had insisted, had said that he didn’t want Jungkook trying to patch up his own injuries at home and getting an infection and dying.

So he hops up on the granite countertop and waits. He can hear rustling and cabinets closing from down the hallway where he knows the bathroom is, and then Seokjin is coming into the kitchen with a chunky first aid kit and furrowed brows.

'You need to be more careful, this is happening too often'
Seokjin says gruffly, setting down the kit with a loud clatter

Jungkook knows he isn’t annoyed or mad, just worried, and this time he can’t blame him. This time it looks pretty bad.

Seokjin immediately gets to work, swiping disinfectant wipes over scrapes and cuts and squeezing ointment onto bandages before gently sticking them on.

He doesn’t say anything, instead he lets an easy silence blanket them, giving Jungkook the option to speak up whenever he feels ready to.

'Seokjin hyung, I’m sorry'
His voice is small and quiet in the stillness of his kitchen and it makes him feel even more little as he hunches his shoulders, wincing when Seokjin starts to clean the torn skin of his knuckles.
