Despite being the youngest in his family, Seokjin molds into his role of the hyung of the group almost seamlessly.

He’ll comfort Jimin when he feels like he isn’t enough and Taehyung when he misses home.

He’ll tell Hoseok it’s okay to frown once in awhile because people aren’t meant to be happy 24/7, and stay up with Yoongi to share their worries for the day.

Namjoon, being the leader after all, already has too many things to worry about for someone his age, and Seokjin is more than willing to listen to his complaints about the pressures of being the leader and taking the brunt of the punishments for the group.

As for Jungkook, the only vulnerable side he’ll ever let Seokjin see is physical.

There was one time– when they were trainees– where Jungkook had gotten hurt badly.

A miscalculated dance move had caused him to end up with a black and purple bruise on his hip.

The other members never knew about this, and the only reason how Seokjin found out was because during a late night practice, Jungkook’s shirt lifted up just enough for Seokjin to notice the mottled bruise.

Jungkook of course, being fresh out of middle school, became flustered and pushed him away when he tried to ask him about it, but afterwards always came to Seokjin whenever he was hurt.

It was reassuring to know that the younger had finally trusted him because he knew Jungkook never really learned how to ask for help, even when he desperately needed it.

So when Jungkook injures his arm (it's a nasty looking burn that doesn't look quite right on his skin) and tries to hide it, Seokjin’s mind starts racing.

He wonders if he’s simply overreacting– that maybe the younger is fine because he doesn’t need Seokjin’s help, not anymore because he’s eighteen now and can take care of himself.

But he also knows that Jungkook isn't as invincible as he makes himself seem.

That sometimes the younger can break down, and he doesn't know if Jungkook has learned how to pick himself back up yet.

'I’m fine, it was an accident–really, hyung!'
Jungkook says when Seokjin catches him sneaking in through the front door with a dented bike tire and bruised knees.

'You shouldn't ride your bike when it's slippery outside, it's summer which means it’s going to rain a lot'
Seokjin chastises

He tugs the younger to the bathroom and opens the medicine cabinet to pull out rubbing alcohol and gauze.

'Just don't tell Namjoon-hyung that I was out, I think he might kill me'
Jungkook laughs

He stops short and winces when Seokjin applies alcohol onto the wound. Seokjin apologizes profusely for not warning him and quickly dabs at it.
