Despite Tanjiro and Muichirou still standing in the house, engrossed in their argument, Kanao and Nezuko decided to go ahead and have a meal together. They walked towards a small restaurant nearby, eager to satisfy their hunger.Nezuko pointed to the restaurant and suggested, "Let's go eat there, they won't follow us anyway."
Kanao nodded in agreement. "Sure, let's give it a try."
Hand in hand, they entered the restaurant, which turned out to be a big hot pot place. As they settled down, Kanao expressed a hint of worry about the expenses.
"What's wrong, Kanao?" Nezuko asked, noticing her concern.
"I'm just a little worried about not having enough money," Kanao replied sheepishly.
Nezuko reassured her, "Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it."
Kanao was surprised but grateful for Nezuko's generosity. Nezuko worked in a well-paying position at a large company, alongside Muichirou, so money was not a concern for her. Muichirou, being a carefree individual, never worried about finances either. On the other hand, Kanao worked at a reputable bank but held a lower position, resulting in a modest salary. Saving money had become a habit for her.
Seated across from each other, Nezuko asked, "What would you like to eat, Kanao? I'll order everything."
Kanao hesitated for a moment but eventually responded, "Anything you want, Nezuko."
With that, Nezuko proceeded to order a variety of dishes, ensuring they would have a satisfying meal. The food arrived quickly, and they both indulged in the delicious spread.
During the meal, Nezuko couldn't help but notice Kanao's reluctance to fully enjoy the food. She saw Kanao picking up more food for her, trying to encourage her to eat. Nezuko smiled and continued to engage in conversation.
"Cj Kanao, how are you and Tanjiro doing these days?" Nezuko asked, breaking the silence.
Kanao replied softly, "It's going well."
Nezuko shook her head, not convinced. "You don't have to lie to me. I can see the tension between you two."
Kanao remained silent for a moment before speaking up. "But where should I go when Muichirou isn't at home? I end up going to Tanjiro's place, and it's partly my fault."
Nezuko listened attentively. "I understand, Kanao. It's not enjoyable spending all day with someone you don't like."
Kanao was surprised by Nezuko's understanding. In truth, Nezuko had encouraged her to pursue love and happiness rather than forcing herself into a relationship filled with animosity. She realized that her decision to marry Tanjiro was for her own sake, not Nezuko's.
"Nezuko, are you sure about this?" Kanao asked, seeking reassurance.
Nezuko replied sincerely, "I'm sure, Kanao. I want you to be happy. You deserve someone who truly loves you."
Kanao felt a wave of gratitude. "Thank you, Nezuko. I'm grateful to have someone like you in my life."
They continued their dinner, cherishing the moment and savoring the delicious food. The atmosphere between them was warm and comforting. As the meal concluded, Kanao expressed her gratitude once again.
"Nezuko-chan, thank you for the wonderful dinner. It was truly a memorable and enjoyable experience," Kanao expressed her gratitude.
Nezuko smiled warmly. "There's nothing to thank me for, Kanao. I'm glad we could have this time together."
As they prepared to leave the restaurant, Tanjiro and Muichirou appeared at the entrance, still engaged in their argument. Nezuko waved at them, extending an invitation.
"You two are welcome to join us if you'd like," she offered.
Tanjiro grumbled, "Tch... Fine, we'll join you."
With that, the four of them reunited, their quarrel temporarily set aside as they prepared to continue their evening together. Nezuko couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and hope that this shared meal would help strengthen their bond and bring them closer as friends and family.
