"And your gonna hear me roar!"
- Katy Perry--
"Raelyn! Wake up!" Someone nudged me quickly.
"It's an emergency, hurry!" As my eyes opened, I noticed Jaxon was in front of me with a horrified expression on his face.
He was scared.
That was rare.
"What's wrong?" I asked once I sat up in my bed.
"Theodore sent out an alert, anyone who delivers you back to him will be given a guaranteed 1 million dollars," he said to me.
Then suddenly Brianne burst into the room.
"You guys need to see this," she said.
Both Jaxon and I exchanged looks before sprinting out of my bedroom, and following Brianne into the main TV was located.
"This girl," Theodore said on National Television while pointing to a picture of me, "shall be returned to me no matter what. I don't care if she has goddamned EBOLA! I WANT HER BACK HERE!" He shouted so loudly, that Christopher had to put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
Theodore took a deep sigh.
"I'm sorry. She's just very important to me, she has a special place in my heart," he said.
"Bull shit," I commented to no one in particular.
"Thank you," Theodore said curtly before walking away from the microphones and cameras.
"We need to dye your hair,"
Mr. Pillar said, "make you unrecognizable,""Blonde," said Hanna.
I was a natural brunette, so going blonde - Never gonna happen.
(A/N: No offence to blondes, it was Raelyn! She just doesn't like the hair colour, sorry!)
"No way!" I screeched, "Blonde? Jesus! I'd rather dye my hair blue!"
"If you dyed your hair blue, you would attract too much attention," Alexander commented from the corner of the room.
"I'm not dying my hair blonde," I said sternly.
************
"I cannot believe you guys made me dye my hair fucking blonde," I said angrily while staring at myself in the bathroom mirror.
"Well, it was the only natural hair choice. It would be sort of stupid if we dyed your hair red, right? Blonde seemed like the only realistic choice," Brianne said to me.
I huffed, "Whatever," I muttered angrily.
"There's my little blonde girl," Alexander commented with a wide smile as he entered the bathroom.
"Shut up," I said to him.
"C'mon blondey! Now I have a new nick-name for you, be happy!" Alexander laughed.
"This isn't funny," I said angrily.
"Yes it is," he said while laughing his guts out.
I tried to pounce him and get a few punches, but Jaxon held me back.
"What?" I hissed at him while ripping my wrists out of his grip.
"What's up with you? You're acting different,"
"Go to hell. All of you," I said, and by now Alexander's laughter had died down, and I was stomping my way up to my room.
I knew I was over reacting, I was just dying my hair blonde for God's sakes. It wasn't the end of the world, but the hair colour just brings me back to bad memories.
"Ross! I told you not to touch my hair!" I yelled at my brother in my 7 year old form.
"Well, maybe if you brushed your hair, I wouldn't have to fix it," he said calmly.
Ross always had so much patience with me.
"Sorry," I said to him.
"No need to be Sissy," he always called me that, Sissy, because he said he like to remind himself that I'm his sister.
Why he needed a reminder? I don't know.
"Have you ever noticed that my hair is brunette and yours is blonde?" I asked my older 8 year old brother while scrutinizing his hair.
"Yes, I have," he answered.
"I wonder why that is," I said.
"Because if we were both blonde, or both brunette, people would have a hard time telling the difference between us," he said.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"Well," he started to explain, "if you were blonde, then people would think that you're me and I'm you,"
"But I'm not you," I said while furrowing my brows.
"That's why your hair is brunette, and mine is blonde, Little R," Ross said while slinging his arm over my shoulders.
"I love you, Ross,"
"I love you more, Raelyn,"
I missed my brother so much, and by dying my hair blonde, it will just remind me of him everyday.
When I was 9, and he was 10, Ross was abducted while walking home from his training session.
My parents thought we needed to learn independence, so they let us walk alone.
But on that day, someone took my brother away from me, and I never saw him since.
So then, I started to train like crazy, and from that day I swore I would find my brother if it killed me.
But time is running out, and so is my life span.
Because that's the problem with being an assassin, you never know when your time could run out. One moment your kicking ass and the next your lying in a coffin with people crying over you.
But all I want, is to live until the day I get to see my brother again.
That's all.
That's it.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
But things aren't exactly going in my favor these days, are they?
