Jelsa: Darkness Dearest

Darren's P.O.V.

"King Darren, the Corona's royal family boat has entered the Fjord, it is time to greet them." Maxwell, my second in command said. It had been five years since we had lost Jelsa. I had had a lot of work to do, to get where the kingdom trusted the royal family again. Shelby and her family has gone back to Corona after Jelsa's funeral and my coranation. They had visited a few times since but Shelby and I wrote letters to each other weekly. My feelings had grown for her but I denied myself the ability to admit it since we were second cousins.

"Yes, thank you Maxwell, I'll be down shortly." I said. He nodded and left. I sat down and sighed. This was going to be difficult. Not writing how I felt was hard enough, but to be around her it would be even harder not to tell her.

"Darren, Shelby and her family are almost here, you should come down and wait with the rest of us." Mom said. Her bright orange hair in its usual two braids.

"Yes, Mom I know, I'll be down in a bit." I said. I looked out my window at the approaching boat.

"What's wrong? And don't try saying nothing because I'm your mother and I know when something is wrong with my son." She said as she came and leaned on my desk. She'd aged well. She only had a few white hairs and her face only sported a few wrinkles from all the smiling she'd done in her life.

"I can't say Mom, it'll only make it harder for me." I said, I could already make out Shelby on the boat, her nearly white hair shining in the warm summer sun.

"You love her don't you?" Mom asked. I looked at her and opened my mouth to argue but she shut my mouth.

"I'm not stupid, sure I almost married a man I had just met once but I have since then become a love expert. And I know when my own son is in love. So why are you holding back from such a girl?" She asked.

"Okay now you're starting to sound like Dad's side of the family. She's my second cousin, I can't fall for her." I said. Mom bit her lip.

"Yeah, there's something your father and I should have told you a long time ago. We adopted you." Mom said. I stared at her.

"You what? And didn't think to tell me?" I asked. She smiled nervously.

"The trolls found you, you were just a few days old when you were just dumped in the woods all alone so when Kristoff and I found out we brought you home, we'd lost hope in having children so we thought why not? he needs a home, someone who is going to care for him. You became such a huge part of this family that we almost forgot that you weren't our flesh and blood. And we never felt that it would even benefit you at all to know. We thought it would better if you never knew." Mom explained. I nodded and stood up. I kissed my mother's cheek.

"Well thank you for telling me. It may very well help me in the future." I said.

"And don't worry Mom, I'm not angry, you are my family." I said. Mom stood up and hugged me.

"You know I love you right honey?" Mom asked. I hugged her back.

"I love you too." I said.

"Now come, we've got a boat to greet." I said and led my mother down to the docks just as Shelby's boat was docking.

Shelby's P.O.V.

I closed my eyes and felt the sun on my face I was so excited to see Darren. I had been moping around the castle at home for weeks until Mom talked to me and found out it was because I was in love with Darren and we were second cousins so it wouldn't work out. Mom had then laughed and told me he was adopted and that Anna would likely tell him if he felt the same as I. I hoped he felt the same.

"We're here!" I squealed and Dad looked at me.

"Okay Blondie you and I need to talk. Especially about Darren." Dad started just as we were pulling in I saw Darren coming toward the docks and he grinned as he caught my eyes. Anna winked and I heard Mom laugh.

"Darren knows." She said. I had climbed onto the railing and was holding onto the ropes so I didn't fall into the water. We were only a few feet away from the docks and I felt my heart do a flutter.

"Be boy safe." Dad said just as I leaped off the railing and landed on the dock. I ran for Darren and his pace sped up. Once I was close enough I jumped and he caught me, our lips finding each other's.

And that is the end! I will try and have the second one out in a few days. the sequel takes place after Rise of the Guardians. You won't see anymore of anybody but jack, jelsa(as if these two wouldn't be in it), JJ just cause, and Pitch our favorite bad guy, JJ won't be as important mainly she'll show up like once or twice, but their will be some new characters i'll give you some names
Indie, Melissa, Kate, Ronnie, Hopel, and Simon. And that is all I shall say
