Jelsa's P.O.V.

"Jelsa? Come on! It's the annual snowman building fest!" Ella squealed after I'd slammed the door in her face. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not going." I said. Five minutes later my mother came in.

"Jelsa put on the winter dress I got you and let's go! I'm in no mood for your temper fits." Mother said. I looked at Mother.

"Please? Can't I miss it this year?" I asked. Mother rolled her eyes.

"No. Now get dressed!" Mother barked. She shut the door behind her when she left. I groaned and got up. I hated when I had to wear winter dresses. They were normally uncomfortable, that and then Ella would exclude me in all the cool snow activities. I got dressed in my pink winter dress. Aunt Anna must have picked the dress out, Mother would have picked blue. I stepped into the hall and I heard Mother talking to Ella in her room. I stood at the doorway. Frost was everywhere, and Ella was panicking. Mother was trying to calm her down.

"Ella honey, just calm down." Mother said. Mother never called me honey or sweetie or anything like that like she does Ella, I was simply revered to as Jelsa. Ella shook her head.

"Mommy I can't. What if I hurt Jelsa like you did Auntie Anna?" Ella asked. I bit my lip, I was the older sister, I was supposed to protect her, not the other way around.

"Jelsa's fine, you won't hurt her. Besides Jelsa will be with the little kids all day. You'll be with me at the skating rink." Mother said. I stepped into the room entirely, Ella was the only one who noticed. Mother never noticed my presence.

"Ella, you won't hurt me because I'll be right by your side the whole time, okay? If you feel like you're going to loose control just take my hand." I said. Mother gave me a harsh look.

"Jelsa she can't be by you, she might loose control." Mother said.

"She's never going to learn if you don't let her be by me." I said and took Ella's hand. We headed towards the gates while Mother gave me the look that all mothers have mastered. Aunt Anna saw me with Ella and she winked at me, then picked up Ollie. Ollie was my cousin. The gates opened when Mother told the guards to. I imeadiatly took Ella to go find Jack. Jack Overland was one of my closest friends. He understood my whole feeling of not fitting in with my family. He had a little sister Emily that he'd die for. I'd die for mine. We were best friends.

"Hey, Snowflake!" Jack shouted. I smiled and let go of Ella's hand so that I could hug Jack. He called me Snowflake because I didn't have powers but he always said no one is exactly the same, just like snowflakes. I hugged Jack and he spun me in a circle. He was fifteen and I'd be fifteen in two days.

"Hey! Sorry it's been so long Mother hasn't been letting me out much lately." I apologized to Jack for not having seen him in at least two weeks. Jack shrugged after he let go of me.

"It's okay, Emily was sick so I was busy helping take care of her." He said. Ella came up and hid behind me. Ella was only ten and didn't do well in crowds. She'd never actually met Jack before. Jack smiled.

"Hi Ella, I'm Jack. I've heard lots of good things about you." He smiled and offered his hand for her to shake. She gingerly reached out and shook his hand. Small bits of frost formed on Jack's hand but he didn't seem to mind. Jack grinned.

"So who's up for ice skating? I know Emily is sort of waiting for me." Jack said. I nodded and Ella nodded. She took my hand and we followed Jack to the frozen fjord. Ella created skates for her and I while Jack used his own pair. He looked down at me skates.

"A little sister with ice powers seems pretty handy." He said. I looked around.

"Where's Emily?" I asked. Jack laughed and I raised an eyebrow at him.
