Jelsa's P.O.V.

I woke up to snow falling on my face. I moaned and opened my eyes.

"Really El-" I stopped when I realized this could never be Ella. The snow was black and there were small bits of black sand on my bed. I breathed in deep.

What was going on? I was about to call for Aunt Anna when I realized it was preparation day for my party tomorrow. I instantly forgot about the sand and snow as I got dressed. I wore a black and gray winter dress. I put my hair up how Mother had worn it for her coronation. I ran into the hall. Aunt Anna always had all the windows and gates opened the day before the party. I opened my mouth and started to sing, as cheesy as it is every girl in this family sings randomly.

"Windows are open, so is that door. I didn't know they did that anymore. Who knew we owned eight thousand salad plates. For years I've roamed these empty halls. Why have a ballroom with no balls? Finally they're opening up the gates! There'll be actual real life people! It'll totally be strange. But wow am I so ready for this change

Cause for the first time in forever!

There'll be music, there'll be light! And for the first time in forever, I'll be dancing through the night!

Don't know if I'm elated or gassy, but I'm somewhere in that zone! But for the first time in forever I won't be alone! I can't wait to meet everyone, (gasp) what if I meet... the one? Just imagine me gown and all, fetchingly draped against the wall! The picture of sophisticated grace! Then I suddenly see him standing there! A beautiful stranger tall and fare! I wanna stuff some chocolate in my face! But then we laugh and talk all evening! Which is totally bizarre! Nothing like the life I've led so far!" I had found my way into the ballroom and had started making crazy posses as I sang.

"For the first time in forever! There'll be magic! There'll be fun! And for the first time in forever I could be noticed by someone! And I know it's totally crazy to dream I'd find romance! But for the first time in forever! The first time in forever! At least I've got a chance!" I sang. Then I heard a chuckle.

"You're not finding romance quite yet." I turned around to see my father. I fixed my posture.

"Father welcome home." I said. Aunt Anna came in and so did my cousin, Darren. Darren came and stood by me. He was a year older than me and we both shared a distinct hate for my father. My father wasn't as bad but like his brother. Power hungry. My uncle Hans had once tried to kill my mother and use Aunt Anna to get to our throne. I gritted my teeth and Aunt Anna in her awkward way tried to be nice. Mother didn't even like Father, why did she marry him? The only person who liked him was Ella, but she likes everyone. Olaf wandered in. When he saw Father he hid behind me.

"Jelsa why is he here? Do you think he knows how to not be here?" Olaf asked. I smiled and Darren took my hand and led me out of the ballroom.

"Darren where are we going?" I asked. Darren grinned.

"Well I'm in charge of the menu like every party so you have to taste stuff." Darren said. We ran into the kitchen and right away Darren had food set in front of me.

"Which one should I try first?" I wondered out loud. Darren grinned and pushed a plate with chocolate cake on it. I grinned.

"I don't even have to try it! It's going to taste amazing if it's chocolate." I said. Darren rolled his eyes playfully.

"Just try it, Jelsa." He said. I took a bite and moaned. Darren laughed.

"This is awesome! I love it!" I said. This stuff was delicious. We picked out the menu then I decided to go see Jack.

"Hey Snowflake!" Jack said as I found his cabin. I smiled. I'd forgotten it was summer and yesterday was temporary so I was sweating in my winter dress. Jack laughed at me.

"Forget it was summer thanks to yesterday?" He guessed. I nodded.

"Well I'm sure we can find a summer dress for sale in town. Come on let's go." He said and started running. I started running after him.

We found a dress for sale that happened to be my colors, black and gray. I got out my money purse to pay but Jack quickly paid.

"Jack! I was going to pay!" I whined. Jack laughed.

"Consider it an early birthday gift." He said.

"You always say to consider it a gift." I pouted.

"That's because it always is a gift." He said, he fake pouted to mock me and I laughed.

"Fine, but this is the last time." I said and we ran to the palace. Jack had to talk Aunt Anna about games or something so I changed. The summer dress went down to my ankles and had black snowflakes on the skirt the rest was gray. I ran out into the halls in search for Jack when I noticed black frost on the door knob to my room. I started to breathe shallow as black frost began to form under my feet. I had to find Aunt Anna, no, I couldn't let her see me like this. I quickly decided on Mother. I ran into the ballroom in a rush to find Mother when I saw Aunt Anna and Jack. Jack noticed my shallow breathing and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Hey Snowflake, are you okay?" Jack asked and I saw frost forming on my hands and I pursed my lips.

"Yeah, I just need to find Mother. Aunt Anna have you seen her?" I asked my words coming out so fast it took them a moment to realize what I'd said. Aunt Anna looked at me in question.

"Yes, she's in the library, Jelsa you can tell me if something's wrong." She said and I burst out in a run for the library. When I got in there Mother and Father were discussing trade between their country's. They both turned to me.

"Father get out!" I shouted. He looked taken a back.

"You don't speak to me like that!" Father's tongue was sharp. I looked at mother with fear in my eyes.

"I think Jelsa and I will have a quick discussion in my room." Mother said and led me to her room. She shut the door and looked at me.

"Jelsa what is it?" She asked. I held out my hands and black frost formed where I was standing. Mother gasped.

"Jelsa." She whispered.

"Mommy what's happening?!" I panicked talking like a child.

"How do I explain this?" Mother muttered.

"How about with the part of why my frost is black and that there are small bits of sand!" I squawked.

"Sand?.... Well um your father isn't your father."
