For the nth time in the last ten minutes, I checked my watch. My foot was involuntarily tapping impatiently as I waited for my only class to end. My watch read 11:14 and there's only a minute more of this painfully dragging class.
I don't even know why I'm being absolutely impatient. It's not like anything special is happening. Well aside from Tina going to Taft. That was the sole reason of my impatience and I'm sure that my seatmate was starting to get annoyed by my inability to calmly wait for the class to be dismissed.
'Damn it Thomas. Are you that excited?' I asked myself.
As if on cue, our professor dismissed us. I didn't take anything out of my bag for the whole lecture so I just picked it up and rushed out the room. I shrugged on my backpack before I felt my phone vibrating in the pocket of my jeans. I pulled it out only to see Tina calling.
"Hello?" I answered. Pati pag-tawag, on time, I chuckled.
"I'm here??? I think that this is La Salle. Oh God. I hope I'm not lost," she answered with a nervous laugh at the end. I even heard her ask someone is she's already at La Salle. "Okay. Confirmed. I'm not lost. I'm here!"
I wasn't able to stop myself from laughing. "Okay, okay. Where are you exactly?"
"..." It took her a while to respond. "Well, I honestly have no idea. Uhm... There's a McDonald's branch here and a gate of some sort, I think. Students are going in and out of this place e,"
"Ah, okay. South gate, sige. I'm on my way, kakalabas ko lang ng class so sakto ka,"
"My timing is always on point," she proudly said. I can even see her grinning.
"Sabi mo e. I'll be there in a few minutes. I'm coming from the other side of the campus,"
"Oh... If you want, I can just walk somewhere else to meet you halfway,"
"It's fine. Sige na. I'll see you in a while,"
"Okay! Yey! Free lunch! Bye!"
I stuffed my phone back in my pocket once the call was ended and my pace quickened. Coming from the other side of the campus wasn't that much of a problem. I even walked past a couple of my teammates who were walking back to their dorm.
"Uy, Thomas!" Gabby grinned. "Where are you going?"
"Lunch tayo, bro," Almond suggested.
"Libre raw ni Jeron," Prince grinned as he teased Jeron.
"Pass ako ngayon," I apologetically smiled. "May kikitain kasi ako. Next time na lang,"
The boys grinned amongst themselves, obviously intrigued by this person that I'm meeting. I'm sure that they wouldn't let me escape from the hot seat when I get back to the dorm tonight. I pushed that out of my mind for the moment.
"Oh," Jeron grinned. I think he already has an idea as to who it is. After all, he was there when Tina said next week. He even asked me about it when she left. "I see. Ngayon pala. Sige, baka hinihintay ka na,"
Gabby, Almond, and Prince shot him a questioning look and he just shrugged.
"Sige. I'll go ahead," I told them before I continued on my route.
When I got to the south gate, a bunch of students were going in and out at the same time. A few of them were sparing me glances, a few giggled too, but I didn't mind them. All I wanted to do at that moment was to get out of the mass of people and find Tina. That wasn't too hard, seeing that there were people who were taking photos with her. Some were even eyeing her weirdly, probably thinking about why she's here.
