2 - Almond

Magus was bewildered. That message was the last thing that he expects to receive from someone. It made him look like a fool. Well at least that's what he felt. He felt so embarrassed that he didn't leave his room for two days. Talk about drama queen.
Her Mom wasn't buying any of his stubbornness and girly period though. She opened the room and scrunched her nose at the mixed smell of socks and something rotten. She glanced at her son's bedside table and saw the half eaten bread and empty cup of coffee that she brought him.
"Sir, are you-oh, pardon me Missus" Bane entered the room and took the neatly stacked paper on his desk.
"Bane" Mrs. Wilson stopped the Man before leaving.
"Yes?"
"Could you tell my husband to ease on Magus' training?" She asked. "Three days max would be preferable"
"There's no need to ask Mr. Wilson on that Mam, Sir Magus has finished a month's worth of work so he can take a week off" Bane smiled politely.
"Oh" Mrs. Wilson exclaimed. "Alright, you may leave, Thank you"
Bane nodded and closed the door as he left the room. Mrs. Wilson looked back at the lump under the thick blankets on his son's bed. She was both proud and worried about his son. She always knew that Magus had the same mind of their Father but she was worried that he was over working himself.
"Magus, Sweetie" She called. "I need to ask you something"
The heap of blankets moved and Magus poked his head out. His hair looked like there were birds resting and he looked much worse when she asked him to get the flowers from Thea's. She smiled at him and reached for his head.
"What is it Mom?" Magus grumbled sleepily.
"Go to the Grocery with me"
"Don't we have maids to do that?" he snuggled back to his sheets.
"Yes, but I want you to go with me this time" She stood up and placed her hands on her hips. "I'll meet you downstairs in 30"
Magus only groaned as an answer.
"And do take a bath, your room smells like something died in here"
"You mean my ego?" he grumbled.
"Magus" she said sternly.
"All right, I'll just wash up"
Magus stood up and dragged himself to his bathroom. Not surprised to see his distressed self in the reflection, he washed up like his Mother had told him. Mrs. Wilson know that behind the tough look of her son, he's a big teddy bear.
She shook her head while chuckling as she saw the teddy bear that he had when he was still a baby.
"He's still a softie"

"Magus, what is wrong with you?"
Magus rolled his eyes for the nth time. They have been in the grocery for at least an hour now and he was tired from walking around with the cart as his mother continues to place things in it. His mother sighed at his attitude and shook her head.
In the corner of his eyes, he saw a familiar figure reaching out for a can of pringles. He squinted his eyes to get a better look but it didn't really help since the person had its back on them.
"Let me help you with that" he grumbled as he reached for the pringles and handed it to the person.
"Oh, thanks!" Magus eyes widened in realization when his instincts were correct.
