16 Thorn Apple

**

After dropping off Yvette at the airport, Magus was anxious to go back to the flower shop and see Thea. He bought a box of chocolate in the airport to give to her and he smiled as it sat on the passenger seat. He was flooded with joy with the mere fact that they share the same feelings and now that they're together, he could leap out of joy.

As the flower shop came to view, his grin widened and he grabbed the box and walked to the store happily. The little bell dinged as he entered and his eyes locked with Thea on the counter but his joy wasn't mirrored by hers, instead, her eyes were a bit swollen. His smile turned to a frown and he stomped over to her and cupped her cheeks.

"What happened?" he asked.

Thea looked up to him blankly and went back to fixing the files. He was about to open his mouth to say something when a customer suddenly asked for assistance.

"Excuse me" Thea mumbled and went to the customer.

Elysian whistled behind him and shook her head. "What did I do?"

"What did you do indeed brother mine?" Ely scoffed at him and walked past him.

Magus pondered over at what he did wrong and nothing came to mind. His mind was in cloud nine since last night and he couldn't come up with anything that could cause for Thea to be mad at him. Sighing in frustration, he placed the chocolate box down and grabbed an apron to help out in the shop. He walked up to Thea and talked to her when he saw that she wasn't with a customer.

"Thea-"

"Mrs. Reed, so good to see you again" she smiled at an old lady who just entered the shop.

Magus clenched his jaw and counted to ten in his mind. She isn't avoiding me, there's just a customer.

"Thea-"

"Ely, could you please..."

"Hey, Thea can-"

"Are the deliveries okay?"

"Uhm-"

"Good Afternoon Mam, how can I help you?"

Magus sat in the corner sulking. He has been trying to talk to Thea for the whole day and for some reason, she always finds a way to avoid him and it has been affecting him greatly. The sun is almost down and he couldn't hold a proper conversation with Thea.

He tapped his foot in the wooden floor as he thinks of a way to get her attention. He grabbed his phone and dialled up a number.

"Sir Magus?"

"Bane, Hi, I uh need to ask you a favour"

Thea wiped the sweat off of her forehead as she placed the last pot of flower inside. It was already sundown and they were closing up a busy day. She glanced at the clock and it read 5:57. She went inside their kitchen and prepared three glasses of orange juice and a plate of chocolate chip cookies. Having Elysian and Magus when the shop is busy have been helpful for her.

"Hey Thea, ooh, cookies!" Elysian beamed. "Is that for me?"

"Sure, let's have a snack before closing the shop" she placed the tray in the table and noticed that there was someone missing.

"If you're looking for my brother, he left earlier" Elysian said, noticing her eyes.

"O-Oh"

She wasn't really mad at Magus. She was hurt and she just didn't want to burst in tears in front of him again. Once was embarrassing enough and just because he stated the truth, doesn't mean that she has the right to start a fight with him. She couldn't tarnish their shaky relationship.
