Antheia woke up with her head pounding. She clutched her head and gasped when she saw her bloody arm. Tears threatened to stream down her eyes when she suddenly heard Max's voice from outside her door. As instinct, she cowered on the corner with her eyes wide, her whole body started to tremble and she chewed on the tips of her nails.
"Yeah, bud, I'll be there, you know how I care for her, she's like a family to me Alex"
Her ears perked up when she heard her brother's name. She slowly crouched away from her corner and tip toed her way to the door. She opened the door lightly and she saw Max's back towards her with his phone on her ear.
"See you tonight" he said then turned around.
He smirked at her and the color from her face drained down as he started to stalk dangerously towards her. Before she could close the door, he swung it open and grabbed her face.
"You heard that flower?" he said to her face. "I said that you're like family and it hurts me to see you being this afraid of me"
"L-Let me go" she stuttered.
Max chuckled dryly. "You already know the answer to that don't you?"
He set her down the chair and brushed her hair with a comb. She was still shaking and he was staring at her through the mirror. Thea was having a hard time breathing with the thought of him sharing the same roof as hers, what's more is that he is touching her and she already knows that she won't get any sleep tonight.
"Flower, I need to go out tonight" he suddenly said.
She looked up to him and a glimmer of hope shone through her green eyes.
"I know that look flower, but I want you to be a good girl and stay at home alright?"
She didn't answer and looked down, thinking of a plan to escape the hell hole. She yelped when he suddenly grabbed a fistful of her hair which made her look up.
"What did I say about answering my questions?" he ran the tip of his nose on her cheek.
"I-I need t-to answer t-them"
"And?"
"I'll b-be a good g-girl and stay h-here" she said quietly.
He let go of her hair and kissed the crown of her head. "That's my pretty flower"
He set down the brush and opened the door. "There's food on the fridge and anything that you could possibly need while I'm out, I'll be back in a couple of hours"
She nodded stiffly, her face numb from fear and rage. "Hmm...I'll be home quickly, don't miss me too much flower"
He closed the door and she waited for the front door to be shut before she went out of the room. She looked around just to make sure that he really left and she walked down the front door only to find it locked from the outside.
"No...no no no" she cried. "I have to get out"
She went back up and looked for other exits. She walked inside the bathroom but the ventilation was bolted in the ceiling. The only option that she had left was the veranda. She took in a deep breath and looked back down again and her knees started to shake.
"Thea, come on, you got this" she whispered to herself.
She held the railings and gripped it tightly and assessed the places that she could possibly go through but they were too high up. She bit her lip and she started to cry when she suddenly heard people talking. She looked at the units around them but she remembered that Max owns the other ones.
