12 French Marigold

"Gods, how long has it been?" Yvette said and went up to Magus for a kiss on the cheek. "You look so good!"

While Magus was still in the middle of processing the fact that he almost confessed and his childhood best friend is here in front of him, Thea was having an internal battle with herself. She was feeling happy that Magus and his friend has met once again but she was also displeased at the fact that Yvette's arm was linked with Magus.

"Y-Yvette? I-Is it really you?" Magus snapped out.

"Seriously, how many times do you have to ask me that?" the girl said and giggled.

Magus swooped his friend in for a tight hug in which she reciprocated. The last time Magus and Yvette saw each other was when Yvette was leaving for her operation. Yvette had a weak heart so she was always sickly and Magus was the one who protected her from everyone who bullies her at school for being so weak.

"Don't crush my new heart, it's hard to get a new one you know?" she teased and patted her friend's back.

Thea looked more displeased and she smiled weakly and averted her gaze. Her heart clenched as she watched the exchange between the two and she was confused as to why she was feeling so upset. This, however, didn't go unnoticed by Magus. His eyes widened and pulled out of the embrace and cleared his throat.

"Oh right, I want to introduce you to Thea, Thea this is Yve my long lost friend" Magus said.

Yvetter laughed and ruffled his hair. "Lost your ass, I was just a hundred miles away Mags"

They even have nicknames for each other. Thea thought and her throat felt dry.

"Right, well I have to get back to the shop, I told my brother I'd be quick" Thea said.

"Yes, of course, let's g-"

"Hey Mags, I'm not sure if I remember which is your house..." Yvette trailed. "..Oh, sorry, you guys were going somewhere?"

"Yeah, I was jus-"

"It's fine, I walked to get to your place so I'm pretty sure I know how to walk back" Thea said.

"But-"

"Good, let's go Mags, I still have jet lag for sitting for more than 12 hours" Yvette groaned and grabbed Magus' arm again.

"Thea-"

"I'll be fine" Thea smiled. "Have fun!"

Magus' mind wasn't sitting right with the idea Thea would be walking back alone. It was still bright but he was worried that the girl would be distracted of somewhere and would get back later than sooner. Alex would probably kill him if she was a minute late. Thea noticed the worried look on his face and laughed off the aching feeling in her chest and waved before she turned back.

"Text me when you get home!" Magus shouted and Thea gave a thumbs up and walked away.

He sighed and let himself be dragged by Yvette home. The timing was so frustrating, just when he got the courage to tell him how he felt, another thing comes up and he couldn't even send her home. Even if she said that it was okay, he wanted to spend more time with her and set up a date.

I'll just call her later. Magus thought.

"How's your mother dear?" Mrs. Wilson asked Yvette.

"Oh, she's okay, she's actually in Londo-wait no, she's probably in Korea right now, she did tell me that she'll be making full use of her one month leave" Yvette answered.
