This chapter comes with a trigger warning. Not nearly as strong as my Liam chapter, but a murder trigger warning is being put on this chapter.

"What?" She looked at me in horror "Lyla, have you fucking lost it?"

I shook my head glancing at her "I know where he's going to be and I'm going to kill him"

"Lyla, you-"

"I'm doing it with or without you" I said cutting her off. "He doesn't deserve to live"

"Lyla, he's a murderer, you're not" she looked at me worried "Don't sink to his level..."

"I have a whole list of reasons why he doesn't deserve to live Sally, what he did to mom is just at the top..."

I turned the corner and stopped a few hundred feet from the bar I knew Nathan would be in; it was Wednesday night, half price wings...Nathan loved wings....and cheap beer, when we were dating that's all we ever went out to do.

"Lyla...are you sure?"

I looked at her turning off the engine; I was in for another few hours of sitting and waiting.

"I've never been surer about anything else in my life, kid"

She was quiet for a minute before she spoke again; quieter this time.

"Mom didn't know, did she?" She asked

"About what?"

"Him...hurting you"

"How do you know about it?" I asked I'd always been careful about not telling Sally what had happened.

"I didn't," she said quietly "Not for sure, Sam said her brother used to talk about you and him; and that he'd been at our old house or at Nathan's and you...”

She stopped and looked at me to make sure it was okay to continue.
I just sat quiet, waiting.

"...that you would..." another pause "That you would scream" she finished

Sam's older brother was Nathan's best friend, Andrew, Liam had broken his nose once; he would've done a lot worse if I'd told him that Andrew had raped me on New Year's Eve one year, after Nathan had gotten his fill.

I wondered just what else Sam thought she knew; I'd be willing to bet it wasn't the whole story.

"What did he do to you, Ly?" She asked looking at me with so much hurt that it broke my heart.

I shook my head "You don't need to know"

"I want to"

I shook my head again "No you don't"

"Please Ly, I want to help..."

"It was a long time ago, Sally"

"I don't care"

I sighed pulling my lips against my teeth looking at her as she waited for me to speak.

"He never loved me, Sally...almost four years and I was too stupid to notice"

"Did you love him?"

I shook my head "I wanted to; I just couldn't..."

"Because of what he did?"

"Partly," I nodded "But we were also sixteen and I...I thought I would never find anyone else"

"Did you really fall down the stairs drunk on that New Year's you came home all bruised?"

I shook my head slowly.

"He pushed you, didn't he?"

"No..." I swallowed hard recalling the memory. "He beat and raped me"
