Hi babes!

Sorry for the late posting! I'll try to be on top of things next week I promise!

Also! My lovely wife will be here in one week as of Wednesday, she will be here for the month of August and I haven't seen her since last summer SO, that being said, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that as of next Friday (July 31) I will be on hiatus until she leaves at the end of August. Regular posting will resume on that Friday (September 4)

I hope you enjoy this weeks chapter!

A couple of weeks later, we finally got home, my withdrawal symptoms had lessened significantly, they were still very much there, but I missed home and I missed Jack.

I followed Noel into the house and sighed setting my bag on the island along with my purse.

"Happy t'be home?" He asked with a small laugh

I nodded "Call your mom and tell her I want to see the baby, I really miss him..."

I was coming out of the bedroom after a shower and getting myself dressed when I could hear Jack down the hall. My heart felt like it was literally swelling in my chest. I hadn't seen Jack in over a month...maybe this is what being a decent parent feels like...

As I came down the hall, I caught a glimpse of his little Adidas clad feet running towards the kitchen.

"Jack!" I called after him as I got closer to the kitchen; he appeared in the doorway in a little pair of jeans and proudly sporting his Man City jersey.

His face lit up like a Christmas tree and broke into a grin "Mama!"

I dropped to one knee as he ran towards me as fast as his legs would carry him. He threw himself at me, wrapping his arms around my neck as I lifted him off the floor, squeezing him back just as tightly.
I squeezed my eyes shut trying to keep the tears from sliding down my cheeks, but to no avail, I buried my nose in his blonde hair kissing his temple as my eyes fell on Noel, who was coming out of the kitchen; I knew the look on his face, it was one he hadn't given me in a long fucking time; he was proud.

I pulled back to look at Jack, his blue eyes filling with concern when he realized I'd been crying; his little hand reached up and touched my cheek, wiping away the tears. I just smiled taking his hand in mine and kissing his fingers.

"I'm okay, I just missed you, nugget" I smiled

He studied my face, obviously still unsure, but seemingly took that as enough of an answer.

I shifted him to one him and gave Noel a kiss

"Y'ain't out of the woods yet, y'know," he spoke quietly, but he had a smile on his face "It's gonna be-"

"A daily struggle" I finished "I know

"Are y'gonna do it this time?"

If he had asked me that two months ago, I would have freaked, but he had every right to ask.

I nodded "Near death experiences aren't all they're cracked up to be"

The smile vanished from Noel's face and he gave me his trademark scowl "I'm bein' serious, Ly..."

"So am I," I nodded "Almost dying isn't exactly a party, Noel..."

He nodded "So, we're done...for good this time?"

"Nothing but cigs, babe" I smiled

He sighed "Lyla..."

"Oh come on, Noel" I scoffed bouncing Jack on my hip "I smoked before I even met you, you can give me that"
