Sally nodded slowly trying hard not to cry again.

"How late are you?" I asked quietly

She let out a breath and thought for a minute. "Almost three weeks"

I chewed on my lip "Pierre's?"

She looked at me like it was the stupidest question she'd ever been asked.

"Yes!" She yelled "Who else's would it be?!"

I shrugged "Jeff's pretty cute..."

"Lyla!" She shrieked before dropping her voice again and letting out a sigh.

"I'm scared, Ly..."

"How many tests have you taken?" I asked

"None..."

"Go take this one, right now, I'll wait here"

"No," she shook her head "I want you to come with me"

"Sally, the bathroom is right across the hall"

"Please?"

I nodded standing up "Alright..."

**

I sat on the edge of the tub while she sat on the lid of the toilet waiting for what I knew was the longest five minutes of her life.

"You have to look, I can't, I'm too nervous"

I was just as nervous and it wasn't even my test, I was nineteen the first time I had my scare and it hadn't really worked out in my favour.
I took the test from her and let out a shaky breath looking at the result.

I must've been sitting too long because Sally kicked my foot gently.

"Lyla!"

I looked up at her "It's negative"

I could see the relief wash over her face "A-are you sure?"

I nodded handing her the test so she could see for herself as I stood up.
She jumped up from where she sat, throwing her arms around my neck.

"Thank god!"

I laughed a little hugging her back.

"You can go eat now" I smiled stepping back "If you're anything like me, you haven't in days"

She nodded and walked around me out of the bathroom.

"And sleep!" I called after her

I went back downstairs and found Jack in the living room by himself.
I frowned picking him up from the floor.

"Where's your Daddy?" I asked fixing his hair

As I spoke Noel came from the kitchen with Jack's sippy cup.

"You left him alone?" I asked raising my eyebrow as Noel handed the cup to Jack.

"For two minutes!"

"And two minutes is all it takes for our two year old to stick his fingers in a light socket"

He laughed "That's a little dramatic don't you think?"

"Not really, he walks now, and you know as well as I do that he's adventurous"

"He's not even a year and a half"

"But he is walking"

"Cut me some slack, y'left me alone with 'im for over a month an' he turned out alright"

I laughed giving him a kiss and sitting Jack on the couch to finish his juice.

"So, what happened with your sister?"
