Average mans trip to Gensokyo

Incense and Prayers

After lowering us safely one by one through the cramped vent that leads to former hell, Rin piles us back into the blood crusted wheelbarrow. I have no idea what horrors this farmer's equipment has seen and to be honest I would rather not know.

Rumia:"27, your leg looks real bad"

27:"Doesn't feel great either, l-let's not look at it."

Rin:"It'd be fine if ya didn't give our meds to the enemy!"

27:"Give that a rest alright! She's..."

Koishi:"Was she a friend?"

27:"Something like that."

Rumia:"I coulda just ate her, it woulda made everything so much easier."

27:"You're not wrong Rumia, but that's not the way I do things. Sakuya can be reasoned with, I'm sure of it, and the only thing that's worth more than a strong ally is a strong ally that's close to your greatest enemy."

Rumia:"hmm..."

Koishi:"We shoulda ate her"

Rumia:"Yeah"

Koishi:"...Thinkin' about human meat got me all hungry."

Rumia:"Oh! It's not human but I've got this, I'll share it with you."

From my old school bag, which at this point has become Rumia's, she produces Koakumas disembodied arm. The tearing of meat and buckling of bones can be heard as Rumia painfully snaps it in two; she hands the top half to Koishi, keeping the 'hand' half to herself.

Koishi:"Woah! Thanks Rubia!"

Without even batting an eye they begin their meals.

27:"Th-... That's..."

Rumia:"Don't worry 27, it's not human."

Koishi:"Eaah, isha yogai!"

Rin:"...Miss Satori's gonna be really mad at you... 27"

27:"Why'd you pause like that?"

Rin:"27's such a dumb name... I just..."

Disregarding her incredibly rude comment I continue the conversation.

27:"...Look, I get that Satori's gonna be mad, but I stick by what I did. I didn't plan on getting Koishi into danger, that's just the way it went down."

Rin:"Well either way it goes, here's a piece of advice for ya, don't try to sweet talk your way outta this, she'll be in your head and she'll know if it ain't genuine."

27:"...She's difficult to deal with."

Rin:" Hahaha, ain't that the truth! She's the best there is though. You kinda remind me of 'er, y'know"

27:"How so?"

Rin:"Just got that vibe about ya."

Due to Rin's haste we reach the palace rather quickly. As we pass the entrance I notice something I hadn't before.

27:"Flowers? In hell? And what's with all those warning signs and barriers?"

Rin:"It's former hell and their Satori's. Satori's got a lotta pets, myself included. Summa those flowers are really bad if we eat them."

Through a mouthful of arm Rumia speaks up.

Rumia:"Dose 'r called *gulp* Lavender."

Koishi:"Woah! Rubia's a genius!"

Rumia seems absolutely delighted, having been praised for her random trivia.
