[#12]
Clove groaned upon hearing the bell ring. Time for the next class, which means she'll have to face that jerk again.
"What's with the long face?" her bestie, Finch, said as they walk together for their next class.
Clove looks at her in disbelief and sighed. "You know it already."
"Come on, Clove! Don't let him get inside your head and ruin your day. He's just a speck of dust in your wondrous universe." Finch tried to brighten up her friend's mood, which kinda worked as she saw a smile forming on Clove's face.
They arrived earlier than the others. Clove was starting to get restless as soon as the other students came in. Then from afar, she can already hear that familiar obnoxious loud voice. She closed her eyes and kept on repeating "not today" in her thoughts, as she can sense his presence drew closer and closer.
She felt something, no - someone bump into her desk. She opened her eyes and there she saw him standing.
"Your desk is getting in the way, Kentwell." he told her.
"Fuck off, Hadley." she said sternly, but he only laughed at her as response and made his way at the back to his own desk.
Clove tried her best to listen in class, diligently taking notes just to be preoccupied and to avoid having any thoughts about Cato.
"What?" she muttered not loud enough for others to hear. She wasn't suppose to say it but she was surprised that she's actually thinking about him. "What the hell" she mouthed.
Then the class came into an end. She was relieved upon hearing the bell. She quickly gathered her things and leaves the room immediately with Finch.

"Why are you grinning like a lovesick puppy?"
Cato was snapped back to reality as he heard his friend Marvel say something.
"What?"
"I said, why are you grinning like a lovesick puppy?" Marvel asked him again.
"I'm not! What are you talking about?" Cato was quick to deny it.
"Dude you've been that way since we left the class." Thresh added.
"I don't think so."
"We've noticed how you're being weird these past few days. Does it have something to do with Clove?" Peeta joined the conversation. Now all the guys' attention is on Cato, like he's in a hot seat.
"What the hell are you guys on? What's this nonsense? How absurd." Cato mumbled. "You know I hate her."
Thresh laughed at him for acting that way. "Chill man. He's just asking you a yes or no question and you getting being defensive."
"Whatever." Cato slumped down into the chair, looking defeated as if he got caught.
They exchanged glances and started teasing him.
"So that explains why you're bugging her for no reason. She's actually cool and there's no reason to hate her." Marvel said, earning a glare from Cato who thought no one saw his reaction.
"Uh oh, someone's being jealouuuus" Thresh nudged him teasingly.
"You hate her that much to be paying attention to what she's doing huh? Interesting" Peeta said in a matter of fact way.
"What the hell is mauve?" Thresh said, mimicking the way Cato had said it before.”Turns out it was her favorite color.”
"The way she twirls her hair is annoying." Marvel said dramatically as he twirls his hair. “Yeah, but you can’t take your eyes off her.”
"She talks to herself sometimes. What a weirdo." Peeta said nonchalantly. “We haven’t saw her doing that but you did.”
"I don't think that's a regular pen. I think she's using a knife pen." Thresh mimicked him again. “What a good observation. You really do know small details about her.”
The guys went on which made Cato turned red in embarrassment. He can't believe he's been mumbling those things in front of the guys.
"Dude you even know the name of her dog. If it's not love or something then I don't what it is."
"Well that’s because she always posts pictures of her dog that's why I know it." Cato tried to save himself from further humiliation but his friends won't let it slide this time.
"You, my friend is in deep trouble.” Marvel said, putting an arm in his shoulder.
“There’s nothing wrong with admitting that you like her.” Peeta patted him at the back.
Thresh just nodded, agreeing at what the two have said before.
“That’s ridiculous.” Cato had ran out of words. They had figured out already. Oh well, what can he do? He’s being obvious. He blabbed too much when it comes to her.

“Catooooooo!”He jolted awake. “What the hell?”
“You slept the entire class. Good thing Mr. Crane didn’t really mind or you’ll end up in detention again.” Marvel said.
“So it was just a dream?” Cato looks at him confusedly. Everything felt vivid to him that it can’t be just a dream.
“Uhm .. I don’t know what dream you’re talking about but whatever it is, yeah it’s just a dream. You have to get up now and we’ll head to our next class. Thresh and Peeta are waiting outside.”
Cato can’t get it out of his head. He was relieved that it didn’t actually happen and he was able to avoid getting embarrassed from his friends. But it only confirmed that he have feelings for her. He momentarily forgot that they’re about to share the same class. It feels like his dream earlier. He can already see her scowling at him from afar. “Act normal, Cato. Just be your usual self.” he thought to himself.
He was already thinking of what to say just to annoy her but his mind and mouth isn’t cooperating that day. “Looking lovely today, Kentwell.” he said genuinely. His eyes widened upon realizing what he just said. Shit, he’s in trouble. He can’t undo that. Even his friends were surprised about what he said. What made it worse is he actually said it out loud that most in the class heard it. He wanted to disappear. Can someone curse him into oblivion right now?
“Fuck, I’m out.” he thought before turning away and leaving the class. Leaving a blushing Clove behind.
