January 17th

Ariene woke up that morning with a small sense of dread. She looked up, and the four boys she shared a dorm with were all missing. Ariene raised her eyebrows, getting up and quickly getting dressed. She was probably so late for breakfast. Ariene checked her watch. It was only 7:45. Ariene looked around the dorm again. It was completely empty, and all the boys's beds were made. Ariene sighed and picked up Bowie, giving him a quick kiss and refilling his water and food bowl. She took time to put on her eyeliner and attempt to brush out her untidy curls. She settled on just using some water to get them back into little ringlets. When it was 8:00 she smiled at the mirror and left the dorm. There was nobody in the common room, which was very strange. She decided not to think too much of it and walked to the Great Hall. She yawned as she walked in, and she nearly jumped when she saw that several eyes were on her. No. Did they know? How did they find out? Ariene tried to hide her panic as she sat down at her usual spot. The four boys were not there, so she sat down with Mary, Marlene and Lily.

"Hey, what's going on? Where are the boys?" Ariene asked them. Mary smiled and shrugged. Suddenly a soft voice played over the hall.

" Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality. " Ariene looked up and around, and looked just as confused as most of the students. Ariene looked to Mary, who was smiling and looking down at her food. Laughter struck the Great Hall and Ariene snapped her head to the doors.

"Putain de merde," Ariene exhaled.

" Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see," Sirius Black lip-synched, flying in slowly on his broom.

" I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy, " James flew in after, just as dramatically. Ariene looked up at them, her mouth open in amazement. The two boys flew through the hall, singing along, and soon most of the tables were singing along as well, laughing as they watched the show.

" I see a little silhouetto of a man, " Remus sang, rushing into the hall. Ariene burst out laughing.

" SCARAMOUCH SCARAMOUCH WILL YOU DO THE FANDANGO, " The Great Hall sang out, laughing.

" THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTNING VERY VERY FRIGHTENING ME !" Sirius and James were now pretending to fight on their brooms.

"Galileo!" Peter sang out, jumping up from the Hufflepuff table, earning a ton of laughter and cheers. Ariene looked over to the professors' table, and instead of being outraged, they seemed to be pleasantly enjoying the show. Ariene even could've sworn she saw McGonagall smiling.

" I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me, " Sirius sang out to Ariene, flying right down to her, winking before flying back up. Ariene covered her face, which must've been completely pink at this point. She laughed and smiled through the whole thing, unable to catch her breath.

" Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me ," The music rang out, loud and clear, and Ariene sang along with the rest of the great hall.

"For me, FOR MEEE, " The Great Hall sang. Sirius reached into his pocket and threw up what looked like a bomb, and at the same time, Dumbledore lifted his wand.

"Silencio!" Dumbledore called. The firework exploded, and Happy Birthday Ariene was left lingering in the air in bright red sparks. The whole hall laughed and applauded and the boys landed their brooms right next to Ariene, took her hand, making her stand up from the table, and bowed in front of the whole crowd. Ariene covered her face again in laughter and shock. How did they know? The hall applauded again, and Ariene sat down, shyly as the commotion stopped, the boys sitting around her.
