Smile for me(Laurinah Fanfic)

Chapter 56

Just a quick note guys, I am making up some fake names in this chapter so please just work with me here. If you guys know them, please share so I can correct my errors. Enjoy!

******Dinah's POV*****

I thought I had seen everyone, but it turns out my three of my little brothers. They were playing in their anual football tournament before on New Year's Eve. I remember them saying they were going out for sports, but I had no idea they would make it to the championship game. All I can say is that I'm proud and hope they go pro.

"Hey baby, you ready to go?" Lauren said as she walked in my room with Regina on her hip. 'Yeah Dinah,lets go!" Regina said impatiently. "I'm coming. Calm down you two" I laughed. I ran down the steps, seeing them looking irritated with me. "Okay okay, I'm sorry. Now let's go" I said and pushed them out the front door. We left last to suprise them, and they had no idea I was coming. Today was a good day.

I drove while Lauren,Regina, and Midnight were in the back of the car. Regina was really warming up to Lauren, and it made me really happy. "My big brothers play good. Even better than Dinah did" Regina told Lauren. "She played?" Lauren asked with a slight giggle. "Yeah, I was tight end and wide receiver" I said, smiling to myself. That got me tons of attention from the ladies...but now I found the one.

We pulled up to the field, just the last play of the game was being made. I saw my brother James, the oldest and team quaterback, throw to my middle brother Tony, who was saved from being tackled by my second-youngest brother Charles. Tony ran all the way to the endzone, scoring the game winning points. Everyone erupted in cheers and then gathered at the center of the field, where they would recieve awards. That's where I come in.

"We'd like to present three boys, brothers, with the MVP awards for everything they have done on and off the field. These boys do well in school, kill it in games, and hold down the fort while their parents work. Yet, they never complain or give up. They keep moving forward" their coach went on. "Give it up for the Hansens!" he said and my entire family(most of the crowd) went ballistic. "And to present their awards, super model and fellow Hansen, Dinah-Jane!"

I walked out with each of their trophies in my hand, but they didn't move from where they were standing. "D-dinah?" James said, staring blankly at me. "Hey guys". A supposed-to-be touching moment changed into a real awkward situation. I walked up closer to them, and we just stared at each other deeply. Charles immediately through his arms around my waist, followed by James and Tony. "I missed you guys so much. I'm so proud of you" I cried as I held onto them.

Everyone broke out into to cheers and clapping, but they didn't matter. It was just me and my baby brothers right now...who were no longer babies anymore. "Please don't leave for that long again. Ever" James cried into my chest. 'I'm gonna try to be around more, and you guys can come visit me in New York". "We'd like the" Charles whispered next.

I gave them their awards and my older cousins carried them out on their shoulders like heroes...which they were. Especially James. With me gone, he had to hold down the fort. He had to take care of or siblings and our cousins while my parents worked. He really stepped up...and he needed to know that all his hard work didn't go unseen.

That evening, I decided to take James with me when I took Midnight on his walk. "You know James, I really proud of you" I said, but he just looked at the ground. "I'm still not happy with you Dinah" he said without looking up or changing his tone. "I know James. I'm sorry I left. But I'm back now". "And you're only gonna disappear for another few years at a time, leaving me to take care of everything while you go live you dream and forget about your family" he growled.

"Woah woah woah....Come here James" I said, and stopped and sat on on the ground with our backs against the side of a building. I called Midnight over and had him sit in my lap. "Is that how you feel? Like I abandoned you guys?" I asked, and he nodded and sighed. "I'm so sorry. That's why I came home. So I can fix my wrongs, see you guys, and pay off the house for mom and dad". He lifted his head at the last part. "You're paying it off?" "That's right. Mom and Dad can work less and all of you guys will be able to get to college". He just turned and wrapped his arms around me, and I did the same. "Thank you Dinah. Thank you so much". "They're my family too. I owe it to them". 

After that, I think I had made it up to James. And now he was gonna help me with my plan. "So when is this going down? And have you talked to mom and dad about it yet?" he asked as we stood in the front door. "Of course I...planned to talk to them?" I said. I totally forgot to ask my parents. "Oh c'mon Dinah, how do you know they even like Lauren?" he asked. "Cause Lauren's a good person. Now let's go inside before they get suspicious" I said, and then we went in. 

*****Lauren's POV*****

Dinah's mother Milika and I were talking, and she was showing me a video of Dinah on youtube singing a tongan house called "Malie" and she was really owning the stage. "Dinah is such a beautiful singer. Why didn't she pursue a career in it?" I asked. "Dinah always knew she has a beautfiul voice but she was called a lot of names in school about her appearance....so I guess she did it to prove herself. And then she just stuck with it" her mom told me "She wanted to feel like she was beautiful" I said quietly. 

I turned to her mother and grabbed her hand gently. "I promise to let your daughter know how beautiful she really is everday. I will never hurt her again" I said, immediately regretting my words. "Again?" she said, pulling away from me. "You hurt my babygirL?" "Please, Mrs. Hansen. Let me explain". I told her about everything with Mani and how it was tearing me apart and how I was gonna tell her. "It's okay sweetheart, I understand. Gordon and I went through a similar situation, but now we're married and have kids. Just tell her and she'll understand, because honestly, my daughter is whipped for you". We sat there and laughed. It was nice having someone who understands. 

"Knock knock" I heard Dinah chuckle as she walked into the room. "Hey baby, how was your walk?" I said, hugging her. I looked over her shoulder and saw Milika urging me silently to tell her. "It was good Lo, is everything alright?" she said. I laid my head on her shoulder and held her a little tighter, "I just like hugging you". "Aww sweetheart, we can hug anytime" she said as she kissed the top of my head.

"I just don't know how much longer I'll have you" I whispered, knowing I could lose her once I told her what happened.
