Chapter 9{A visit from the monster}

*****Lauren's POV******

Dinah recovered quickly that week, and I had fun taking care of her. While I was taking care of her I was missing work. I tried to go into work the other day and my boss told me I had to work over time to make up for my missed work. So here I was at 11 o'clock, by myself, and locking the door to the diner. Normani had come back from her trip with Arin, and they were engaged now! She still lives with Dinah right now, so I was back with Camally.

I was walking home because i had to sell my car to help pay the rent on the apartment. When i was taking time off from work to take care of dinah, i wasn't being paid. I couldn't ask her for money...she would think i was using her.

It was extremely dark and quiet, especially for the city that never sleeps. I felt a little uneasy, as if someone was watching me. I started to walk a little faster, and then broke out into a sprint. I heard someone running behind me. I desperately looked around for any open store, but i couldn't find one. I saw a corner and turned, only to be trapped by a large fence.

I tried my best to climb it, but I wasn't fast enough. Two strong and rough hands grabbed my waist and pulled me to the ground. "No! Get away from me!" I screamed, struggling to get out of their hold. I then felt my hands get handcuffed behind my back around a pole. "Let go of me you worthless scumbag" I said.

I heard the unknown person chuckle, "Don't worry babe, I'll be quick". I yelled out loudly for Dinah, but I didn't expect her to hear me. The guy started to pull down my pants while I was fighting him off, and then I heard a gun shot. The man yelled in pain and let me go, but I was still stuck to the pole. I got scared because I couldn't see the owner of the gun, but I heard them walk over to me

I closed my eyes and then jumped when I felt a soft, yet familiar touch on my face. "It's okay Lauren...you're safe now". I opened my eyes and saw a face I didn't want to see...it was him. "K-k-Keaton.....what are you doing here?" He took the handcuffs off of me and I immediately pulled up my pants. "I came back for you Lauren, I want to be with you" he said, trying to grab my face.

I pushed him away, "No! Get away from me. Thank you for saving me but you can leave now". "I'm a different man now Lauren, I've changed". He looked at me with pleading eyes, and I almost felt sorry for him...almost. "I'm gay now Keaton, and I have a girlfriend. Now leave me alone". His facial expression changed to pure shock, "Oh, well.....can I at least give you a ride home?"

I thought to myself for a moment. 'Get in my car with my ex, or walk home with the chance of being raped again?' I thought silently. I really needed to get home, so I decided to take the ride from him. while we were in the car, we talked.

"So Lauren, how have you been?" he asked. I scoffed, "As if you care, but thanks for saving me back there". "No problem Lauren. So....you're a lesbian now. That's cool". did he really jut say that...really?!? Thank god we pulled up at my place. "Thanks again Keaton, see ya around" I said and walked out. I hope to never see him again.

When I walked inside I saw Ally on the verge of tears with Camila holding her. Dinah was pacing back and forth and looked like she was about to lose her mind. She was gripping her hair so tightly I thought she was gonna pull it out. "Honey, I'm home" I said, and I caught everyone's attention. "Lauren!!" they all yelled as they tackled me in a hug. Once they let go of me, Dinah latched back onto me. "Where were you Lauren, I was SO worried". I kissed the side of her neck, "I had a run in with my ex an-". She cut me off, "With you're ex! What the fuck did he want!?" she spat. I knew she was about to lose it.

Then I heard the voice that I didn't want to hear ever again, "I came to get my girl back". I let go of Dinah and turned around to see Keaton standing out the door with a smirk on his face. I heard Ally gasp as he just walked inside like he owned the place, "I came to check out my competition, but there obviously is none". Dinah walked over to him and got into his face, "Leave my girlfriend alone and leave this house. She doesn't want you anymore". "That's not what she said when she was in my lap a few minutes ago". Dinah looked pissed.

"That's it Keaton, I've had enough of you" she said. And then it all began. Dinah walked over and stood over him by about 3 inches. "What are you gonna do, hit me? You're to weak, that's why Lauren doesn't love you" said Keaton. He started to laugh, and then Dinah grabbed his throat with one hand. "Not so funny now Keaton, especially when you're the one desperate for air". He was desperately gasping for air, and it was frightening to see this side of Dinah.

"DJ, let him go!" I yelled, fear making my voice squeak. She just continued to squeeze harder, laughing at Keaton turning a new shade of pale. I grabbed her and pulled her off of him, "What the hell Dinah? you almost killed him". I walked over to Keaton, who was gasping for air. "Get out of here and don't come back, but thanks for saving my life surfer boy". He smiled at me and then walked out, shutting the door behind him.

"Well, glad he finally left" said Ally, trying to lighten the mood. I walked over to Dinah and leaned to her ear, "My room. Now". I didn't mean it in a seductive way at all, we needed to talk about what just went down. When we got to my room we sat next to each other on the bed and I just stared at her, not sure what to say. Dinah reached over to grab my hand, but I pulled away.

"What's wrong baby" she said while moving closer. I stood up and moved away from her, "What the hell were you doing Dinah". She scoffed and said "What the hell do you mean, I was protecting you". "You almost killed him Dinah, were you even thinking? What's wrong with you?" I looked into her eyes and saw a sort of fire, and it was frightening. "I was trying to get him away, so he wouldn't cause a problem". I groaned in anger, "He could file a police report and they'll put you in jail Dinah. Did ya ever think I that?!"

Dinah had her fist clenched, "Why are you angry at me!? I was just trying to help". "You thought you were helping but you were just acting like an idiot". "He provoked me Lauren, what was i supposed to do" she screamed back. "You almost killed him Dinah, you should never hurt anyone. You acted like a fucking child and let your emotions take over. You're a fucking idiot Dinah Jane". What happened next shocked me completely.

"SHUT UP!!" she yelled, while raising her hand at me. I scurried back to the wall in fear, and I started to tear up. Dinah looked at me, and then at her hand, and then she gasped. "OMG, Lauren. I'm so sorry baby. I-" I cut her off. "GET OUT! GET AWAY FROM ME AND DON'T COME BACK!!! WE'RE DONE!!" I yelled. She got on her knees and started to beg, "No Lolo, please. I'm sorry baby. I would never-". "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!! HELP ALLY, CAMILA!!!" I desperately screamed.

Ally and Camila came running in with distressed looks on their faces. "What happened" said Camila. I started to scream again, "Get her out of here!" They looked towards Dinah with deadly glares, and then Camila pushed her out of the room. I felt my heart break from watching her leave. I still love Dinah, but I was scared of her.
