Chapter 47

*****Dinah's POV*****

Bam! Awesome ass gift for my girlfriend, done. I can't wait to see her face on Christmas Day when that little guy comes out of the box. But for right now, I had to keep him away from her. I had to find someone to keep him taken care of and get him to Miami by Christmas morning. I'm gonna need some help on this, so until I figure it out, he's staying with his other little puppies friends at the store, but he's officially mine.

Me and Lauren were home right now and everyone was over just to hang out. It was me and Lo, Ally and Mila, and Arin and Mani. We were all just sitting around and talking, enjoying our time together before we left to the airport tonight. "Arin, how's the free world man?" I asked. "It's nice. I've been out for a week and I am not going back" he said, kissing Mani's forehead. "I'm so glad you're back baby" she said back to him."Aww, you kids are so sweet" Ally cooed. "Kids?" Arin said, "We're grown". "Please little boy, ya'll are still juvinile" Camila said, making us all laugh. "Hey Dinah, can I talk to you for a second?" Normani said, and I said sure. I saw Lo get a little nervous as I got up, but I had no clue why? Is there something going on?

We went to my room and locked the door, sitting on my bed. "Dinah, I have something to tell you" she said. "What's wrong Mani?" I asked, and she laughed. "Oh nothing. I just wanted to tell you that yo girl got some" she said, and I felt my jaw dropped to the floor. "No way". "Yes way, I have the hickeys to prove it" she said, and I squealed happily.

"How was he?" "Amazing! That boy is just.....wow" she said, falling back on the bed. "Jeez Mani, you made me think something was wrong" I said. "No, everything's chill. I just wanted to tell my bestie. And I also wanted to tell her that the engagement is back on" she said, holding up her ring. "Mani, that's awesome" I said as I pulled her into a hug. "I'm so happy for you. And I better be the made of honor". She laughed at that, "Definitely Dmac, that was decided when we were like, 5". Mani and I had been friends forever, and I knew I could always trust her no matter what, When those hoes ain't loyal, I always got my faithful Mani.

"C'mon Mani, me and Lo gotta go soon" I said, and we went back out to the room. I sat down next to Lo, she seemed a little tense. "You okay baby?" I said, grabbing her hand. "Y-yeah. I'm okay. I'm gonna go make sure I have everything right now. Mani, can you come with me? I think I have something of yours in my room" she said, and then Normani followed. Something's going on here.

*****Lauren's POV****

I closed the door and turned to Mani, "What did you tell her?" "That's none of your buisness Lauren. I was just talking to my best friend" she said. "Listen Normani, this isn't funny. Did you tell her about what happened? Between us?" I asked. "No! I told you I wouldn't and I didn't. I'd never do that to you, or my best friend" she said, pulling me into a hug. "Mani, I got to tell her. This secret is killing me" I said, trying to hold in my tears. "I understand. You gotta do what you gotta do. Dinah will understand. Just tell her when you're ready" she said. "Now c'mon, you and Dinah gotta get to the airport".

When we walked back out, Dinah and Arin were putting our bags into the van. We were taking the van because everyone wanted to come, and we had to bring the bodyguards. It somehow got out that Dinah was getting on a plane today, so the guards were coming to be our wall of protection. Plus, Camally and Armani wanted to come with us too.

We were in the van, just talking and laughing and enjoying our time together. "So you jumped off a bridge?" I laughed as Normani continued to tell the story. "In my defense, Dinah's ass jumped off first. I had to make sure Mufasa survived the fall" she said. "Dinah! Doesn't the first thing your mom tells you is not to jump off a bridge if your friends are doing it?" I laughed. "What? I was tryna look like a boss" she pouted, and I kissed her cheek. "I can't wait till we meet your family on New Year's...So I can learn all the embarrassing shit about you". "Trust me baby, there are tons of stories. We won't have enough time".

We pulled up to the airport, and the paps were waiting. "Hood up. Glasses on" Arin said, and then we walked out after the guards. "Dinah, where are you going?" "Who's the crew?" "You taking your hoes on a vacation?" one guy said. "Hey, back the hell off man" I sneered, and he laughed. "You gonna hit me dyke?" he said, and Arin stood in front of me. "She won't, but I will" he said, and then knocked the guy out cold. "C'mon guys, let's go" he said, and we continued walking.

We managed to get our bags checked in and get to the boarding area, but they were still following us. "Anybody touch you?" she asked, holding my face gently in her hands. "No, I'm fine" I said, leaning forward and pecking her lips. "Baby, hide your face. I'm pretty sure they got you kissing me". "Flight 23 to Miami, now boarding" the intercom called. I went over and hugged everyone, and then we were on the plane.

"Thank god" she sighed in relief, grabbing my hand. "We're in the clear. Now we can rest" I said, laying my head on her shoulder. "You know I love you right?" she said, and I nodded into her neck. "I know baby. And I love you to". "Get some rest sweetheart" she said, and we drifted off. But then an hour later, our sleep was interrupted.

Some kid started just screaming and crying. I mean, it was kinda understandable. It was probably their first time on a plane and on this turbulance was even making me a little edgey. I saw fight attendents were trying to calm them down, but these idiots had no idea how to calm a kid. "I'll be right back Dinah" I said, getting up from my seat.

I walked around all the flight attendents, seeing a little girl crying in her seat. "I need you all to stop crowding her" I said forcefully, and they moved back. I got down on one knee, so I could be at the level with the little girl. "Hi sweetie, what's your name?" I asked. "Lana" she whispered shyly. "That's a pretty name for a pretty little girl like yourself. I'm Lauren" I said, and she smiled a little. "It's like Lana Del Rey" she said. "Really? Do you like her?" I asked, and she nodded. I got up and sat in the empty seat next to her, "What's your favorite song by her?" I asked, and she said "American".

"My daddy used to sing it to me all the time before he went into the army" she said. This kid is amazing. "If you'd like, I could sing it for you. I probably won't do it like your dad can, but I can try" I said, and she smiled a little but still looked hesitant. "You know what? Why don't we sing it together?" I said. "Can I record it for daddy?" she asked, and I said sure.

When we finished, everyone on the plane clapped. "You sing beautifully, Lana" I said, and she smiled wider. "Thank you". After that, she started yawning. "I think it's time for someone to go to sleep" I said, handing her to her mother. She mouthed a "thank you", and I said back "no problem". "Bye Lauren" Lana said, drifting off to sleep. I waved by and I went back to Dinah, who had a smile plastered on her face. "You're gonna be a great mother" she said. "I hope so". "Don't worry, you proved yourself right now" she said, kissing my foreheard. "Now c'mon, super star, get some rest" she said, and then we were able to sleep peacefully. Hand in hand, my head against her chest, listening to her heart beat.
