After the scenario at the cafe with Sasha, there was a weight lifted from my shoulders. But afterall those drama, she was still my friend.
But things will never be the same like the way it was before.
"Jade?" A hand was put on my shoulder and when I turned, I saw Koby's concerned face. "Do you want to go somewhere?"
I'm not really sure I want to go somewhere. Maybe I could just go home and cry until I fall asleep. But I'm with Koby, and he's concerned with how I feel.
"I want some ice cream," I flashed a cute smile that turned his worried face into a smile. "If it is okay?"
"Yes, of course," he said, grabbing my bag. "Of course it is," he repeated as we exited the shop.
We went to an ice cream parlor and chilled. We just sat there, enjoying our ice creams, and not talking. I don't need him to say anything. It wasn't awkward either. It was simply comfortable like this.
"The dance is in two days, Jade," Koby said as he wiped his lips with the tissue. The statement made me startle. He placed the tissue, neatly fold, under the saucer and looked at me. He seemed to act royal, which kind of made me chuckle.
"Yeah, and I'm kind of excited. Are you?" That was like a dumb question to ask, Jade!
"Yes," he said, looking away. So I continue to eat my ice cream. He looked at me again after a couple of minutes. He waited for me to finish before he asked, "You want to help me pick out a tie? I haven't picked yet. Will you?"
I just stared at him, confused. He haven't picked out a tie to wear! And he's asking me to help him. I continued to stare at him, holding my spoon tightly.
"Can you?" He asked again, looking into my soul. Of course I wanted to! It's a job for me to do since I was his date to that dance.
We went to the nearest mall. He knew which store to go, I followed behind him. He was mad when I was walking behind him, so he held my hand, but still I was behind him.
"Color of your choice, sir?" The sales lady asked Koby, looking directly in his eyes. Okay, this was making me jealous. She looked like she was the one helping him, she followed him, talk to him, smile to him.
It's a sales lady job, for your information.
Sigh. I know. By the way she looked at him! There was something different in those look! Sigh.
"Koby," I interrupted the sales lady's stare. Koby turned to me and reached for my hand. "Light blue would be nice togetger with the dress."
"Ah, light blue. I was looking at that a couple of times now." He took the box, and without hesitating, he told the sales lady he would buy it.
The sales lady looked at me for a moment, with those creepy stare, and walked away, rolling her eyes. She could've put her eyeballs underneath her shoes and roll away. A chuckle escaped my mouth as I watched the irritated slash annoyed sales lady walk away. Huh, look who's the girlfriend here?
The girlfriend, huh?
Oh, stahp! It was just an expression!
You'll eat your words, someday.
Whatever.
"Jade? You okay?" Koby blocked my sight from the sales lady. He had his eyebrows raised, as if I did something. Because I did nothing.
"What do you mean?" I half joked, and half confused, and half nervous. I chuckled again.
"You look like," he paused-examining my face-which made me blush, "spacing out or having a battle in your head, though."
