Catch me when I fall

JADE'S POV

"Jade?" He asked again. He seemed pretty nervous. Why? Was he going to kiss me? Oh my! Why did I had that thought?

"Yes?" I looked to him, with a smile.

"Can I-uhm-" He scratched the back of his neck. Totally nervous. He gulped, making his Adam's apple go down then up.

"Dude!" Cameron.

"Cameron!" Koby angrily said, storming towards him. They were talking about something and Cameron looked excited, and he raised his arms in defeat.

"Sorry, but can I burrow your homework? I really need it," he begged.

"Here, take it," Koby threw a notebook to Cameron playfully. I laughed at how cute they looked.

"Thanks," he winked. Once Cameron left, Cindy approached me.

"Hey, Jade. Can you-I think this is embarrassing," she smiled shyly.

I chuckled at her. "No, it's not. Please go on," I encouraged her.

"Okay," she looked down to her feet. "Can you help me with the balloons?"

"Sure," I quickly stood up, I took a glance at Koby who was getting something from his bag.

"All you have to do is climb the ladder and stick some balloons in the stand," she instructed.

"Okay," I responded. I went up to the stage and Tyler was on of the guys who were holding the bottom of the ladder.

"In here, Jade," Tyler approached me. He helped me climbed and supported the ladder very well.

Another guy, who was also supporting the ladder, handed me the balloon that was supposed to be in the top.

Once I was finished, I went down the ladder. "Last," Tyler pointed the other end of the stand. Oh, yeah.

I climbed the ladder, and it was quite uneasy. I felt like... Dizzy. The air freshener was getting inside my nostrils and it was making me dizzy! Who wouldn't actually feel dizzy when the air freshener was orange? Hell it was really making me head dizzy. I placed the second to the last balloon. Yes, one more left. Once I placed it, my head can't take it anymore! It was making me really, really dizzy.

"Jade!" Someone from the background shouted. I can't breathe nicely. The air freshener was really into my nose. I lost control and my foot slipped. "Jade! No!" It screamed again. But it was too late, I already fell-

Into a pair of arms.

Someone caught me, perfectly in his arms. How could he be so fast. He was like Superman.

"Jade," he whispered. "You're here in my arms now," he continued. I could feel his heart beating so fast. Was it because he ran fast? Was it because he caught me in his arms? Was it because he thought I was going to his the ground?

I opened my eyes and saw the only guy I came here for. The guy who sent a person to give me the invitation. The guy who I cried for nights. The guy whom I thought would never have the chance of talking to me again. The guy whom I thought was a jerk. The guy who my friends like for me. The guy I like.

"Ko-koby," I mumbled. My voice was trembling. He caught me perfectly in his arms like it was meant to be. A tear rolled down my eye.
