Lori's POV

It was surprising to see Janna once in a while after how many years. Really surprising. I didn't expect it, never, though. Well, expect the inexpected.

She wanted to talk to me, and I gave her the chance. It wouldn't hurt, right? Unless it was something connected to David.

I mentally slapped myself.

Of course it was because of David! Why would she talk to you if not? It was fine if we were close back then, but no, we weren't. So, come on!

"So what do yoy want to talk about?" I asked straightforwardly. We went to a small coffee shop outside of the mall. I know Jade can go home by herself if she wanted to. She's an independent girl.

"How are you?" She asked sweetly. I never knew Janna so well, and I can't judge her. But honestly, I found her sweetness a fraud. Sorry for that Janna.

I narrowed my eyes on her. "Pretty fine. You? You're seeing someone?" I don't know why that came out, and she looked taken aback.

"No." She said, her eyebrows were nearly meeting each other. "Honestly Lori, I want David back. I know you're pretty much expecting that I would say this, but we want him back."

"Yeah? You want him back," I rolled my eyes. Still the same, old Janna I half knew. She wants what she wants, no matter what. But if David really loved her, why did he chose me, then?

"Yes. Like right now." She straightly said, giving emphasize to every word. I shouldn't let it get through me, but it just did.

I was about to throw a slap on her when somebody...

"Janna? Lori? Why?"

Both of us turned to the voice's owner and saw the only reason why we were talking right now.

David.

Janna quickly stood up and hugged him—a bone crushing hug. And David, he was pretty much surprised and didn't hugged her back. He just stood there, looking at me. As much as I dislike to look at them with hatred and anger, I can't help myself.

"Janna—" David breathed out, trying to pull away from her but she was holding him tight. "Please, let go." She gave him one last squeeze and let him go.

"I really, really, really, really, really, really miss you." She sweetly said. Again, I found it fraud. She was like threatening me a while ago, and then now she was acting like a clichè perfect wife. Which she wasn't, and will never will.

"It's great to see you again after a couple of years." He awkwardly said, scratching the back of his head. I looked away and let go of the tissue that I unconciously gripped way to hard.

"Where's Jade, hon?" David sat beside me and put his arm around my shoulders. Fraud. Fine, I was okay with what he was doing right now, just to slap in Janna's face that I'm his wife now. And NOT YOU!

Oh, I sound so clichè. And a clingy wife.

"She's with Yasmin and Chloe," I lied, rising a brow at Janna. She looked at me furiously. Oh, I love looking at her like this. I want to be sweet as possible to David, trying to make her jealous. Oh, not just jealous, but angry and make her regret.

"Did you do that on purpose?" David asked as he closed the door. Jade wasn't home yet. He didn't sound angry, nor there was a hint on his voice that he liked what I did there.

"What?" I played dumb. For sure Janna told him what happened at the restroom. She wanted him back, so she'll havr to make me look bad.

"You and Janna went to the same restroom, I expect something happen." He pointed out, going to the kitchen. I was expecting him to be mad, but he sounded so calm.

"I just gave her a closure." I responded shprtly. I just peeked in the kitchen where he was and went upstairs.

I gave her a closure.

'Tell me, Lori. Honestly. Is David happy? Are you happy?' Janna entered the rest room, with her eyes full of tears.

'I can say I'm happy, and David sure is happy. And if there are things misunderstood, we could handle it.'

It was half true, half lie. I'm not really sure if David was happy about us now. I think he was quite lost. No, he was not there. He needs space, I gave him. He needs time, I went away.

'Don't you ever make David sad, I love him. But he doesn't love me back,' sadness. That was what I say in her eyes.

And yes, I knew it. I knew that they got married just because they were the only ones who were left single in our batch. And I was, too. But the news spread that I died, which I didn't. It was just a car accident, and I recovered immediately.

'If you want me to promise, yes. I will.' I said and went out.
