It felt new as I walked in the hallway, and into my locker. They greeted me with a smile and "hi".

I made it to the principal's office and talked to the secretary while Chloe and Yasmin waited outside.

"Ah, miss Montgomery!" The principal, Mr. Burton saw me and he was surprised. "What brings you here?" He asked as if I was visiting him.

"Good morning, sir. I'm here because I was absent for like-weeks. And I just want to make it up, and maybe I could also see my grades?"

"Oh, yes," he seemed delighted with his thoughts. "Come in," he invited me in his office.

His office was a small room with a table nearly pushed the wall, with a comfy chair and a small table behind it. There were plants, too. And the other wall, there were shelves and drawers.

"You're grades are pretty good so far. And I guess you should talk to your teachers about it," he suggested, giving me a piece of paper.

"A time table?" I asked, puzzled.

"Oh, just to remind you your classes for the day," he smiled.

"Thank you," I exited his office and bid good bye to his secretary.

"So what did he said?" Yasmin worriedly asked. I gave them the rap of what happened inside the principal's office.

"We'all help you with that," Chloe assured me as we walked, clinging in each other's arms, down the hall and into our first class.

"I feel so sorry for you, Jade," Jhelian pouted. She looked horrible. I mean really horrible! I know she really was horrible without making an effort, bit this wasn't just her normal side. "I know Koby-"

"Save that," I closed my locker and went to Chloe's locker, which was just inches away from mine.

"Someone wanted to give you this," Chloe handed me a folded paper with a tease. Chloe and I didn't have the same class before lunch, but we the same in the rest of the day.

In the auditorium. Please

With the handwriting, I already knew who gave it.

"I'm going to eat in the auditorium. See ya," I hurried to the end of the hallway and made a turn, then out to the field. The auditorium was in the next building.

The auditorium was filled with decorations. Then below the stage was someone tuning the guitar.

"Hey," I greeted, making him startle.

"Jade?" He turned, when he saw me, a smile appeared in his face. I listened to him tuning his guitar and observed the decorations.

"What are these decorations for?" I asked him, he was still tuning his guitar.

"The dance," he said, not turning to me.

Oh, the dance... He was not yet done tuning. How long does it takes to tune 6 strings?

KOBY'S POV

I asked Chloe to give Jade the paper, since we had the same class before lunch. And for sure, they would meet.

I quickly got my things and sprinted to the field since the next building was just couple of meters away. The auditorium was in that next building, too.

I hate to admit but, I was hell nervous about this. I mean, I was just going to ask her. Nothing else. It was not like I would ask her to have s*x with me or ask her to marry me. Just asking her to the...

"Hey!" How come she was already here? I started as she came closer. I could smell her sweet perfume from where she was. She pulled a monoblock chair and sat beside me.

"Jade?" I smiled to her, forcing myself to speak. But I failed! I can't speak to her... I feel so... I'm stuttering. Good thing I was holding my guitar, I focused on tuning. She seemed pretty happy, but darn I was chickening out. A chicken. Yup, I can call myself a chicken. I am coward. I am coward of-

"What are these decorations for?" She asked curiously. She was observing them for a while, and her curiosity gone bigger.

"The dance," I said. She nodded and pouted, feeling sad. Oh. I sighed, how can I ask her... What if goes like... Wait, how long does it takes to tune 6 strings.
