Cameron drove Chloe's car and dropped me in our house. As I opened the door, there was something that surprised me. Mom. She was here, with a wide smile and was waiting for me
"Jade!" She happily said and pulled me into a hug
"Hey mom," I greeted back as I followed her in the kitchen. She had a plate of cookies and a glass of milk. She gave it to me and I sat in the kitchen island seat.
"I was jusy curious about you and Koby," she started, seating in front of me. "How did things worked out after the hospital thing?"
She seemed pretty happy about knowing how things will and worked out between me and Koby, though.
"Well," I gulped. "He asked me to the dance." I stated unconsciously. I staryled when mom giggled out loud, making dad ran towards the kitchen.
"What on ea—what happened?" Dad worriedly asked, panting.
"Someone asked our daughter to the dance!" Mother squealed, so both of them danced happily in front of me. I never saw them so happy like this before. It was like all of their imperfections were pushed away and they were so perfect for one another. I just wished that they would make up and be together once again.
"So, Jade-y, who asked you?" Dad wiggled his eyebrows playfully. His hands were still in mom's waist, leaning in.
"Any wild guess?" I joked. Dad seemed curious, but determined to guess. Mom was, too.
"In the mean time, why don't you Jade get ready for dinner, while me and your father prepare the food," I followed politely even though it was so early for us to have dinner. I mean like it was just 5 in the afternoon or something.
"The Fields' telephone number is at the fridge's pocket. It must be there somewhere," mom excited said. I heard them while I was on the stairs. I quickly dialed my best friends number—except for Sasha, maybe.
"Hello?" Yasmin and Chloe said unison. "Yasmin—Chloe?" They said again in unison. I opened the door of my room and wandered inside as I listened to their squeals and giggles.
"Jade? Still there?" Finally. I guess it was Chloe who asked it.
"Uhm, yeah. Anyway," I sighed, flipping through my wardrobe. "If ever mom or dad found your home number, don't them who asked on the dance, okay? They were on a wikd guess." I instructed.
"Sure," both of them said in unison.
"I got to go, bye baes." They bid me good byes too and I hung up.

"So, any wild guess?" I excitedly asked my parents, shoving a spoonful of mushed potatoes. Mom just grinned while dad looked like he was out of ideas.
"Is it Cameron?" Mom's grin grew wider. I laughed hysterically.
"Where did you get that idea, mom?" I asked between my laughs. She didn't looked embarrassed, though. She looked very determine. I asked, raising a brow.
"Oh, I don't know," she said sweetly and innocently, as if it was the answer. "What will I get if I answer the question correctly?" She challenged, eyeing on father.
"Hmm, let me see," I tapped my chin, thinking. Dad sure loves homemade cookies, mom haven't tried those yet. Mom and I both love ice creams, dad just chill with us, so maybe ice cream can be their price. "How about a treat in the ice cream parlor—my treat?" I can see mom's eyes twinkling in happiness.
"And if we lose?" Dad asked, leaning in. He seemed pretty serious about this though.
Well, I kind of understand it. Maybe dad was imaging things. Like what he will and should do if ever that guu shows up at our pavement on the prom night.
"What do you mean we?" Mom asked, stitching her brows. "There are two players in this game, David—it is me and you." Geez, I never thought that she would be serious about this.
"Okay, okay," dad said, surrendering.
"So, any wild guess?" I repeated my words, swallowing my water.
"Is it this guy at the smoothie bar? What was his name? Edward?" Mom grinned again like she was hoping it was the answer.
"It's Eitan, mom. And no, he wasn't it." I corrected her. "He and Yasmin were dating, and so is Cameron and Chloe. Which only leads to the only guy left," I grinned thinking about Koby. "And oh, Sasha and Dylan were out." I warned.
"Was it Korley?" Dad finally asked. Mom's eyes jolted up. I shook my head in disapproval. Korley, huh? Where did that came from.
"Camry?" Dad asked again, scartching the back of his neck. Mom was snapping her fingers as if Koby's name will be written in the mushed potato in her plate, nor the beans will form the word Koby.
"Where did those names came from, dad?" I asked, chuckling.
"I don't know," he shrugged. "It's like its in the back of my tongue, and the word won't come out right." He casually said.
"Was it Korby?" Mom said, standing up.
"Korby? Close enough." I crossed my arms. I felt hopeless about this game. They keep on guessing until dad's phone rang.
"Who was that, dad?" I asked as he put his phone back in his pocket.
"Alarm, stating that it's already 9 pm."
Who in their right minds would alarm for 9pm? Oh maybe people who had their favorite on air at 9 does.
"So, give up?" I asked, standing up.
Both of them sighed defeatedly.
"It's Koby," I said casually. Both of their eyes grew.
"I knew it! I knew it was him!" Mom said, pointing at dad. "Guess you lost, David!" She laughed hyaterically.
Dad sat there for a while, syncing it in. "No I didn't," he calmly stood. "I'm the one who said it was at the back of my mind! You were like guessing people who were dating our daughter's friends." Dad sashayed out of the kitchen. Woah.
"Guess you have to treat me," mom smirked. "And wash the dishes." She walked out, too.
I called it a day after washing ang went to my room.
