[EDITED]

Hello. This chapter might be a bit boring so I posted the next chapter as well. Kise will be making an appearance~. Kuroko no Basket does not belong to me, so does all the pictures. I only own my OC, Mizuki Yui.

(RECAP)

You would have expected someone like him to blush while comforting others but no, it would be a closed-eyes smile that you'd see. Or maybe it was only for her. Either way, it had shocked her beyond believe the first time she had saw it. And now, it seems to be having the same effect on the Shutoku members.

'You got to be kidding me!'
'That's definitely not Midorima.'
'Did that horoscope weirdo just smile?!'
'He actually smiled...'
'Someone give me a pineapple.'

Third POV

Do you believe in miracles? Well, if you don't, look for Mizuki.

Going back a few minutes

They saw a girl. She was cute. But that wasn't what caught their eyes. No. It was the fact that she was running. Running towards their 'tsundere' player as what Takao likes to call. The Shutoku players stopped in their tracks, opened-mouth, as they saw the devil being assassinated. Sorry, wrong choice of word. Called. Yes, being called. Excitedly.

'That stuck-up bastard actually has a girlfriend.'
'Shinta-chan?!'
'This got to be a joke. Even a guy like that got one? God! How can you be so unfair?!'
'S...Shin-chan has a girlfriend?!?'
'Someone give me a pineapple.'

Needless to say, the next thing that happened hadn't been very good to their hearts. Doctors predicted that too much of a shock could be the death of you.

'Midorima petted a girl and smiled.'
'Yes, Midorima did.'
'...'
' *0* '
'Someone give me a pineapple.'

The shock was too great. But luckily, the Shutoku players were not dead, yet. No, they were just on the edge of fainting. Well... except for one...

The exchange being Midorima and a 'random girl' was too much for him to handle. He fainted with a huge nosebleed. You could say that he was fangirling or maybe he was just blissfully in heaven thinking about the amount of things he could tease his 'Shin-chan' about. He just love making fun of his 'Shin-chan'. He was never going to let this go. That girl was god. He'd get a great laugh out of his 'Shin-chan's ' blushing face. All was good. All was good. He wouldn't forget that girl in a million years.

Mizuki looked up at Midorima. That smile and hand had always warmed her heart. Melting away some of her worries. She felt a pang of guilt coursing through her body as she remembered that day when they'd all tried to stop her but she had ran out without listening.

Seirin observed the situation in silent shock as background cheers of 'Shutoku!' could be heard. "I'm gonna go say hi. " Kagami said as he stood up and started making his way towards the still gasping members of Shutoku.
"Sure.- " Hyuga absentmindedly said. Only to realize his mistake seconds later, "Hey!"

Midorima straighten his back and that miracle smile was gone within a matter of seconds as he saw the approaching Kagami. Kagami appeared next to Mizuki.
"Hey. You're Midorima Shintaro, aren't you? "
"Yes, but who are you? "

Kagami smirked and raised his left hand out towards Midorima for a handshake. Or so it seems. 'Left?' Mizuki thought.
"You want to shake hands?" Midorima asked only to be replied with another smirk.

He sighed and pull out his left hand. In the blink of an eye, Kagami had written something on his hand.
'Seirin Number 10. Kagami Taiga.'

"You look like the kind of guy who'd claim he doesn't remember me if I introduced myself normally."Mizuki tried to suppress a laughter. 'That was spot on.'

"I want the guy who I'm about to get revenge on for my seniors to remember me."
"Revenge? You're rather reckless, aren't you."
Takao who seems to has somehow recovered said, "You're from Seirin, aren't you? Haven't your seniors told you anything? Last year, the three kings destroyed Seirin when they tripled their score. "

"No matter what you do, history will only repeat itself. " Midorima said. He failed to notice the tiny frown on Mizuki's face. 'No, you didn't use to say that.'

As expected from the Phantom player, Kuroko appeared out of thin air next to Kagami. "No, you won't know what will really happen until you play, Midorima-kun."

"Kuroko, I don't like you. I can't tell what you're thinking, especially from your eyes. There's plenty I would like to tell you, but telling you now would be meaningless. Join us in the finals first. "

"You've got a mouth on you. You're one of those, aren't you. You went to the school with Shin-chan, right? Don't let it bother you. He's just a tsundere. He's actually really interested in you. He even went to see your first preliminary game. "

"You shouldn't make up so many stories, Takao." Midorima stopped him before he could further blurt out his secrets.

"Hehe, " Takao turned towards Mizuki and asked, "what about you? What's your name? Are you Shin-chan girlfriend?!"

A blush appeared on Midorima's face while Mizuki frantically replied, "O...of course not. We're just good friends. And I'm Mizuki Yui. Nice to meet you."
"Oh? You're not? That's such a let down... Anyway, my name's Kazunari Takao. Yoroshiku."

Before Midorima walked away, he turned back one last time and said, "Kuroko, I'll show you just how naive your thinking is. And Mizu," he paused for a moment, softening his eyes. "I won't go easy on you. "

Later on, Shutoku's strength was shown. Midorima took off the tape from his left hand. "My shot will not miss. Today's lucky item is a stuffed bear. I have compensated for my bad luck. "

Four minutes before the end of the second quarter. Shutoku had already taken the lead with a 30 points difference. The ball was passed to Midorima. He jumped and shot the ball. The ball flew in a ridiculously high arc towards the hoop. Once the ball left his hands, Midorima was already moving back to defending. There was no need to see if the ball he threw would enter. After all, he'd never miss any of his shots. As long as he doesn't lose his form, his shots are 100% accurate. The ball entered the hoop without even touching the ring. Seirin was shocked, this is the team they will be playing against. But she knew better. 'No, this is Shinta-chan we're talking about. He knows he can't beat them like this. He is our GoM's number 1 shooter. He must be hiding something even more ridiculous.'
