"Hi can I get one black coffee hold the milk and one peppermint tea please?" Gia handed over the cash and waited for her change, not oblivious to the face that the female staff kept flicking their eyes over to where Loki sat. Not that she blamed them of course, and when her eyes flicked over to him she was relieved to see him looking back at her, his smile deepening.
"I hope you don't think this rude of me but is that your boyfriend sat at the table?" A woman who must have been in her early thirties asked as she glanced from Loki to Gia. What was odd was the rolling of Gia's eyes as the woman asked her this.. was she jealous?
"Oh no he's not my boyfriend" Gia smiled as she placed her change back into her purse. The woman's smile erupted on her face as she moved her hair behind her ear "really? Well that's great news" is this woman serious? Gia was now pissed at the cheek and audacity of this woman. "Great news? He's not my boyfriend but that doesn't mean he's there for the taking."
Gia huffed as she turned and headed back to Loki, annoyed as hell over the rudeness of the woman. "Is everything alright darling?" Loki questioned placing his hand on top of hers. Gia smiled and looked at him "yeah sorry, the woman at the bar was rude" Gia didn't know why she was so annoyed but also was thankful for Loki not judging her.
Gia and Loki sat for awhile drinking their beverages and talking about themselves. It had been a long time since Gia had just sat and enjoyed a conversation. Gia had been in a very distressing and abusive relationship so talking to a guy one on one was a big deal for her.
"I don't want to sound too forward but I really have enjoyed spending the afternoon with you and if you'd like I'd love to take you out another time, my treat of course" Gia smiled a genuine smile and finished off the last bit of coffee. "I would love to"
It was hard for Gia to hold back her smile as she watched Loki's face beam with what looked like pride. What she and Bucky did was wrong and although it filled her with a sense of fun and excitement being with Bucky with Loki it just felt more.. natural. Like she could breath and he would let her.
Gia and Loki enjoyed their conversation and decided to call it a night considering they both had hardly any sleep before and Gia was hungover to hell and back. "I really did have the best of times with you Loki. Please don't be a stranger" she smiled as she placed a kiss on his cheek, climbing out of the cab they had both decided to share home.
Gia made her way to her front door when she heard footsteps following behind her. As quick as she could, Gia spun to see Loki making the last few steps towards her. "Is everything alright? Did I leave something in the cab?" She pondered as he stood a mere inch away from her "at the end of the date the guy walks the very pretty lady to her front door and bids her goodnight when she leans up to give him a goodnight kiss.. so I just wanted to make sure you got to your door"
Loki smirked as he looked between Gia and her front door. Gia's eyebrows raised at how playful Loki was being "is that so? Well then I bid you goodnight" she in turn smirking as she lifted herself onto the tops of her foot to reach his lips. The butterflies she had felt had magnified as Loki placed his hands onto her waist and pulled her as close as possible to him.
Gia let her hand rest on his chest as his found their way around her waist. Loki pulled Gia's bottom lip between his as he pulled away, the sensation of Loki biting her lip almost made her demand he come inside... almost.
"Until our next date Giannina Kate" he smiled as he turned and walked down the small path towards the cab. "Wait how did you know that was my name?" She called after him, his mischievous smile said it all. Gia returned his smile and gave him a small wave before turning back around and heading into her home.
It was as if the second she stepped through her door the past 48 hours had caught up with her, her body becoming tired and her eyes lids heavy. Gia made her way into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of orange juice before taking out the small silver packet of wet kitten food for her 5 month old kitten.
"Henry buddy it's time for dinner" Gia called as she squeezed out the cat food into Henry's little blue kitten bowl. She could hear him charging down the stairs as he haphazardly ran into the kitchen toward his bowl. Gia smiled and leant her body against the countertop sipping on her juice.
It didn't take the fur ball long before he had finished his food when he began to nuzzle his face and cheek against her legs, letting out a small squeak followed by very loud purrs. "Do you want to come up to bed with mummy buddy boy? I'm way to hungover to do anything else today" she spoke as she grabbed a bag of Doritos from the cupboard.
Gia just about made it to her bedroom with how tired she was. The past two days have felt like a week what with being swamped at work to going out in the club. Gia knew that Monday was going to be awkward for her as every Monday they had a meeting with what the targets were for the week.. however once every month either the CEO or one of his top highest managers would come and do a check in and speak with every staff member.
Gia could only hope that with what had being going on Bucky would not be the one conducting the meeting as he never before has taken one of the monthly meetings. Gia got undressed and changed into a oversized T-shirt before climbing into bed, turning on the tv to watch another Adam Sandler film of who she was obsessed with.
Gia patted the bed for Henry to jump up and pulled the cover of the bed right up so it was sitting under her chin. Henry jumped up onto the bed and settled down by her feet, soon the only sound coming from him were his soft small snores. As Gia watched her movie she couldn't help but give in to her tired eyes as she felt herself overcome with sleep.
Her mind full of two very different men and for two very different reasons.
