Gia was a mess. After what happened with Bucky and Loki she collapsed against the wall outside, her sobs soaking into her arms. Gia could hear people calling for her and decided to call a cab and leave, not wanting to speak to anyone else or see anyone.

By the time she got home, Gia's tears had stopped, the tear stains were evident on her cheeks. As she paid the driver and stepped from the cab she could see him sitting on her porch step, he looked remorseful when he caught the sight of his beautiful broken doll.

"Gia.. Thank god you're home I didn't know where you were" his voice is quick as he stands, trying to reach out for her. Gia stood still as she looked past him, no tears left for her to shed. "Go home Bucky" her broken voice whispered as she walked past him and opened her front door, not wanting to see him or allow him chance to follow her and try and change her mind or make her think this was ok. She shut the door, locking it behind her.

Gia smiled at the little kitten who purred as he rubbed his cheek against her ankle. Gia knelt down to pick him up, stoking his fluffy fur as she walked the two of them to the couch. Gia put on the television and sat watching mindlessly a rerun of a show she'd seen hundreds of times.

She didn't realise she had fallen asleep when she woke to a missed call from Johannas. Gia picked up her phone rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she called him back, hoping to have a normal conversation.

"Where are you? Its 09:34 you're 34 minutes late babes. I'll cover for you but-" he paused. "Yes Sir, she is yes... I'll tell her Mr Buchanan thank you."

Her breath hitched as she heard his name, he had obviously gone looking for her. "Girl get here as quick as you can boss man is looking for you." She knew he would ask to see her and she knew that she would be reprimanded for being late.

Gia quickly ran upstairs and got changed into a pants suit with matching blazer before running down the stairs into the bathroom. Gia slashed cold water over her face and placed her hair into a low bun before before brushing her teeth.

She caught her reflection in the mirror above the wash basin and cringed. Her eyes were still puffy and her eyes looked soulless. Deciding this is as good as it was going to get, Gia slipped on her black pumps and coat before running out of the house towards the bus stop.

Gia tried to make contact with as few people as possible as she rushed to her office, happy to be confined within the four walls and no one else. Gia loaded up her computer and opened up her emails.

She wasn't sure for how long, but Gia had been staring at her screen, not fully able to do her job. Gia could feel that her heart or head wasn't with her today and knowing she needed up most focus to complete her daily tasks she decided to just sit and stare.

She didn't move for lunch nor did she move from her spot for a break, she just sat and looked out the window, watching people go about their daily lives down below.

She knew she should give it time but she needed to hear his voice, so before she could decide against it, Gia picked up her office phone and dialled his number.

"Hey it's Loki, sorry I can't get to the phone right now but leave a message" his tone was upbeat. Her eyes pricked with tears at the sound of his voice, even if it was from just his voicemail. Gia sighed and placed the phone back into the receiver, turning back to gaze out the window.

The phone in her office was blaring, she could see who was calling and couldn't bring it in herself to answer, instead she let it ring.

The phone stopped ringing, only a few seconds before he rang back, his name flashing bright. A reminder of what had happened.

Gia's eyes looked at the phone as she thought about what she had done. She knew if her parents found out they would be devastated in her.

She was finally happy. She had a loving boyfriend who wanted nothing but the world for her. He was kind and attractive and made her feel safe. She thought back to when he found out.

She could see his face, how he changed from happy and content to broken and lost and she knew she had done that to him. Gia didn't realise that she was now crying, the tears flooding from her eyes.

The door sounded with a knock, not able to speak or move to open it, she just slowly moved her watery eyes to look at the door, turning back to look at the wall as the person entered.

Bucky stepped cautiously into the room and all it took was one look at Gia. She was completely broke, he couldn't help but feel guilty for the state she was in. Bucky rushed over to Gia and knelt in front of her, careful not to startle his sweet sweet girl.

"Gia.. Hey its me, its Bucky" he cooed softly, lifting her chin to look in her eyes. Gia continued to sob before he raised himself on his knees, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and pulling her closer to him, rubbing circles into her back.

"Let it out baby it's alright, shh I got you" his voice was warm yet concerned. Gia could just about manage to grasp his shirt, crying uncontrollably.

"I promise you Gia I won't let anything happen to you, I'm here now." She felt comforted at his words even though he was the one who tore her world into pieces, at this moment, he was the one brining her comfort.

"I won't let anything happen to my best girl"
