After a certain someone disappeared from the group right before the game, the host of the game decided they were going to get another contender. Luckily or unluckily for you, that person was you. You had no idea what the names of your fellow players even were, and yet you found yourself standing in the middle of an arena where the other three had also been dropped off. You caught sneak peeks here and there, but you didn't dare approach anyone yourself. One of them seemed to be a doctor. You couldn't tell what the other one was, but he was dressed nicely. And the last one-- Well, she seemed to be a gardener, and she was by far the cutest one of the bunch. Not that your focus was on her appearance, though. You had plenty else to worry about.

Still, as you fidgeted and deciphered the machine in front of you, you couldn't help but let your thoughts drift back to that girl. The doctor seemed nice enough, but you had experiences with doctors that you'd rather not relive. On the other hand, the well-dressed man seemed pretentious and cynical. He was cursing and kicking the machine he worked on when you wandered past. The gardener, though, seemed very nice. She had a sort of childlike innocence to her that the others couldn't compete with. She was adorable; you had no idea how a girl like her could end up playing a game like this.

Suddenly, as though she were an apparition, the girl was right beside you, working on the same machine. She must have already solved the one she was on earlier. You found yourself blushing from embarrassment; she was a lot quicker at this thing than you were.

"Hi, I'm Emma Woods," She greeted as she continued to work, "You showed up pretty late in the game. I guess Kreacher decided he didn't want to come after all." There was something unnatural about her smile that lead you to believe she knew more than she was letting on, but you didn't let that change your opinion of her. We all had our secrets, especially if you were joining such a dreadful game.

"I'm Y/n," You responded, "I don't know much about any of this, but I want to use the money to help my family, so.. It's kind of an important thing for me."

Emma stopped decoding the cipher and turned towards you, holding your hands with a gentle smile. "I think that sounds very noble," She murmured, gazing up at you with admiration, "I wish I came for those kinds of reasons. I came here to see someone special to me again.."

You gently took her hands off yours and put them back on the machine. "Let's work while we talk about this, Emma," You hummed, "I wouldn't want to lose by getting lost in your words."

Emma laughed softly, her cheeks going pink from the light blushing spreading across her face. It seemed like she was catching on to your gentle flirting attempts. "And I wouldn't want to get lost in yours," She cooed in response, "But don't worry about what could happen to us. I have my father's protection to keep me safe. And I'll make sure it extends to such a wonderful person like you, too."
