Though you feel out of place, you walk nervously into the ballroom. Queen Mary, the Bloody Queen, has invited you to her infamous Christmas ball. You've heard all sorts of rumors about the woman; that she wants to be immortal, that she bathes in blood, that she's sentenced more people to death than any other member of royalty. The idea makes you queasy, and you pray to God that you'll be able to keep out of any trouble while you visit her.

You honestly have no clue why you were invited to the ball to begin with. As a mere tailor boy, you never would have expected to find yourself holding a letter of recognition from the queen. She wants you to meet her at her castle during the Christmas ball, which was normally filled to the brim with royalty and other important peoples. On top of that, she's a devoted Catholic, and you do not consider yourself to be sin free by a long run. You don't personally believe there's any good reason for you to be holding the letter you are; she must want a meeting with you. Perhaps you were accused of committing or witnessing a crime; maybe she wants to discuss a business opportunity, something to help you get out of the rut.

You dress up in the best attire you own; a simple suit, dress shoes with the soles almost worn out, and a tie is the best you're able to muster. All are homemade from your own shop and have patches riddling the inside, but it's the best you can do. You show up to the castle right on time, using your spare money to take a carriage ride. You're anxious for what's to come the entire time and sip on a cup of water to calm the nerves.

When you get to the castle, your eyes go wide with amazement. The castle is huge and adorned with beautiful decorations for the holiday season. Though it takes you a moment to notice, the queen awaits up on a golden balcony as though spectating to try and find a certain guest. The driver comes to a halt, the carriage lurching forward when the horse rears up. The man offers you his hand, and you take it carefully before stepping out. The woman near the top of the castle makes a small hand gestures before disappearing behind a a screen of golden curtains.

Carefully navigating the lot, you make your way down the cobblestone path and into the castle. Inside is just as beautiful as the exterior of the castle; decorations are everywhere, and even without, the architecture, artistic touches, and other levels of decor would be elegant enough on their own. The butler at the door takes your coat and loops elbows with you, leading you down a long corridor and into a meeting room. There, the Queen watches with a look of bemusement in her eyes.

"Now, now. Is this the boy who made that wonderful dress for Merida?" The queen inquires, looking you up and down.

"Yes, your majesty. This is the one; the boy was halfway across town, but I sent for him right away, I did," The butler agrees, grinning to himself with pride.

"Lovely. Could you leave the two of us alone for a moment?" The queen asks, though it seems more like a demand. The butler looks dejected before nodding his head and wandering off. The woman closes the door behind him and locks it shut with a light grin.

"Now now. I'd like to propose to you a business offer, eh? You'll be paid handsomely and be allowed free board to work inside the castle to design clothes for the royal family from now on," She explains with a soft hum, "Does that sound fair?"

Numbly, you nod your head in shock. "Good~" The queen cooes, rubbing under your chin as she leans closer, "Now. How about you be good and handsome for me?"
