Emily Dyer has always been the type of woman to naturally know when someone else is in trouble. That's why, when her alarm bells start ringing, she begins searching for the culprit. There, laying on the ground, is another survivor: You. Vigilantly, the woman rushes to your side and helps you to your feet. The hunter, Leo Beck, had just narrowly missed you in his search and is, luckily, off your tail for now.
Despite that, he did get a good hit on you, and your ribs are throbbing with pain from where his weapon made contact. Emily softly soothes you as you bite your lip, trying not to cry out in pain again as she wraps you in bandages. She works quickly, as having had an extensive medical background, treating this sort of wound comes quite easily to her. She smiles a little and examines her work before offering a gentle nod and helping you up again. "You made a good escape, I assume?" She asks, trying to make light small talk.
You smile back as much as you can before grimacing in pain. "Yeah, you could say that," You grumble, standing up with your hands shaking. She wraps her arm under yours for support and helps you get to a cipher.
"I bet so; didn't need saved from a rocket chair this time, huh? Lucky you," Emily hums, starting to work through decoding. Her hands fly against the machine at a steady, rhythmic pace, "If I counted correctly, we should be out in no time. I think we only need one more cipher."
Your smile gets a bit wider as you nod, going around the side to start helping out. "That's great," You agree, "I hate being in this stupid arena. I hope we make it out together. That prize money will be a lot of help."
Emily grins a little and shouts, "Done!" As the alarm sounds, grabbing your hand to keep you going as she darts towards the gates. While the pain blossoms into almost unbearable torture, you know the rules of the game. Leo Beck will be much stronger now that the gates are able to be opened, and you don't want to stick around where he can take you and your newly found companion.
You make it to the pad and start entering in numbers, looking back occasionally. Emily looks the happiest she's ever been before; almost as though there's something more than just pride when she looks at you. You feel your face heat up as you enter the last key. The gates open with a soft creek, and the two of you shout for the others to follow before running away from the arms factory.
