Fred Riley: One of the most intelligent businessmen you'd ever met. The two of you worked under the same legal firm and he was always the star of the show. He's what made the practice flourish. You always wished you could be like him. You always admired him from afar, always too nervous to approach. You felt that someone like you didn't deserve to be looked upon by a man like him. He never seemed to notice you, not in a professional sense nor in a romantic one. He was always chasing after a mystery woman who was rumored to have a family of her own. But that wasn't any of your business.

Now, though, you were put to the task of speaking with him for the first time ever. You were very nervous. Knocking on the door felt like a huge mistake, one you dreaded making. Not only was this out of an office setting but you doubted he even knew who you were. Even though it was work-related, you felt compelled to turn around and leave before things got awkward. Before you could, however, Freddy opened the door.

"Oh, Y/n? Come in," He greeted, stepping to the side and holding the door open for you. A bit surprised, you stepped into the room. You didn't expect him to recognize your face, let alone know your name.

"I wasn't expecting to see you here," Freddy admitted as he lead you through the foyer to a small table setup, "But I'm glad you came. What can I get you? I have tea and I have coffee." You thought for a moment before choosing your preference. You weren't very thirsty but didn't want to be impolite when he welcomed you so kindly.

"I'm actually here on business," You explained, "The boss sent me over with these." You pulled out a packet from your briefcase and moved it towards him.

"Oh? How boring," Freddy murmured, taking the files from your hand. He glanced over the cover before seeming to get bored, plopping the papers down on the table without even taking a moment to read them. You tapped on your mug, feeling a bit awkward. Finally, he spoke once more: "Would you be interested in seeing what I have been working on?" You nodded, feeling a bit overwhelmed and confused. Why was he being so friendly?

"Right this way then," Freddy hummed, stepping up from the table and taking your hand in his. You felt your cheeks warm up but looked down in an attempt to hide them. Everything about this already seemed unprofessional. You didn't want to overstep boundaries by making him feel uncomfortable.

Freddy lead you to a room where he stopped in front of a bulletin board. On it was a map of the town, but that wasn't the important part of the piece. The important part was a heart that went around to different places in a dotted line. It started at the law firm and ended at his home. It seemed like the woman was closer than you thought. You hadn't known she was from your building. Your mind started wandering to who she could possibly be, but the lawyer asked you for your opinion. You hesitated before responding: "Oh, this.. This is quite lovely! I'm sure that woman of yours will love i..."

"Oh no," Freddy cut you off, a smirk on his face, "This isn't for her. This is for you. I didn't expect you to come so soon; I was planning on inviting you over this weekend for a chat, but this works just as well." And with that, he cupped your cheeks in his hands and gave you a soft kiss.

A/n to clear up any confusion: The mystery woman Y/n is initially thinking of is Martha but Y/n doesn't know Martha personally, thus making her identity a mystery. The map isn't for Martha, though; it's for Y/n, hence why it goes to the firm. It is still M4A because Y/n is referring to Martha, not themselves, as a woman.
