Chapter 29

The team is back in Wakanda and is casually lounging in the sitting room. Steve is making some food. Natasha and Bucky are watching a television show about people buying storage containers.

"I don't get it. So these people are buying someone else's stuff? Without knowing what they are buying?" he asks Natasha.

"Yeah, when people stop paying for their storage the owners of the location sells it. To make money."

"These people are crazy. $1200,- that's a lot of money for just stuff. You could buy a new car for that money."

"Maybe in 1940 grandpa." Natasha laughs.

"Ha-ha, you're stuck with this grandpa." He starts tickling her.

"No, please! Stop it James!" she laughs out loud.

Sam runs into the room. "The tracked is giving a signal!"

The three jump up from their seats and follow Sam. The signal is just a hour flight from Wakanda.

"Guys, this is it, we need a plan."

An hour later they have come up with a plan.

"Do you really think she's that predictable Bucky?"

"Yes I really think so. Trust me. This will work."

Steve nods at Bucky and they leave in the jet.

Upon arriving at the location, they find Lilly. She is just standing there, waiting. Her arms spread and eyes closed. It almost seems as if she is meditating and the air feels thick. She is expecting them, waiting for them. Suddenly she opens her eyes and looks at each member one by one.

"How nice, you brought some friends with you." She beckons to Yelena and Tony who activates his Iron Man suit. "That's cute."

Steve and Bucky prepare to attack. They nod at each other and sprint towards Lilly. She waves her hands and easily throws them away with her magic. Tony shoots a beam from his repulsors at her. She raises her arm and stops the beam with her bare hand. She lets the beam bounce back against his suit, and one to Yelena.

Steve attacks from the side. She dodges his punches easily and throws him aside. Bucky sneaks up to her from behind but she soon notices him and grabs him by the throat. He tries to break free but her grip is too tight. "Stop struggling." She is getting annoyed. "Sputnik!" she growls and throws Bucky to the ground. The code word has knocked him out.

"James!" Natasha growls. "I thought your relationship with your father was non-existent. Then why are you seeking revenge on us because he killed himself?" Natasha keeps her hand on the gun on her hip.

"I don't know. Every now and then I allow myself to have a little fun."

Natasha is horrified by her words. Lilly has no conscience and must be stopped. This is not revenge for her but a game. She's too dangerous to let go. She just hopes that the plan they discussed with Steven and Bucky works.

The purple glow from her hands slowly wraps around her entire body, getting bigger and bigger. Her eyes glow white and she floats up slowly. The atmosphere around her is getting darker even though the daylight.

"Guys...? Anytime soon?" Natasha braces herself for what may come.

"It's time for you to die." Lilly laughs manically.

The atmosphere is getting more ominous. Natasha sees a small bright spot appear through the dark surroundings behind Lilly.

Bucky grabs the back of her neck and activates the taser function in his arm. Lilly stiffens in the air and screams in pain. Redwing shows up and drops handcuffs next to Bucky. She drops down to the ground. Bucky quickly puts on the cuffs so that she can no longer use her powers.
