Chapter 1

Jade POV

It was a day like any other day. I went for a run in the morning, then I spent almost half of the day at work and then went home. It was just like that on repeat every day for me. Well, sometimes I stop for a drink at a bar and grill on the way home. People say my life is boring but I don't care, because I like my life like that, plus I do have some fun just not all the time. I just appreciate my "me" time.

People say I'm a workaholic but I'm not denying that. I love my job which makes sense in my opinion because it was my company and I build it from literally nothing. My friends and family always complain about how I always work because let's face it, my time has been dedicated to my company, JTBolt since the moment I decided to go on this path.

I was one of the youngest people to have a company. I'm not the youngest but I'm one of those people because I have the company when I was 20 years old. I graduated from high school at the age of 15, I have my bachelor's degree at 17, and I got my master's degree at 18.

Why my life goes fast? Well because I'm just a really fast learner and I skipped grades in middle school. I was offered to skip grades in high school too but I had to decline the offer because I wanted to have a normal teenage life like any other person and not just study all my life.

High school was a paradise for me. Of course, some people judge me. They thought I'm a freak that spent all of my life studying because of how young and how smart I am and the fact that I have a dick is also not much of a help, but I know my way around people.

Now, I'm about to go home after a long day of work. Well, I'm going to go for supper and a drink at a local bar and grill first. After I packed my things I went out of my office just to see my secretary Anne Marie, still typing on the computer on her desk even though it was already 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

"Why are you still working, Anne? You can continue whatever you're doing tomorrow, we don't have any deadlines until like what, next week?" I said which makes her look up from the computer immediately. "Oh, yeah miss. Thirlwall I'm about to go home after this, I'm almost done anyway so," she said to me. "Okay then, well I'm heading out now, don't stay too long Anne, I'm sure your boyfriend is waiting for you at home," I said to her jokingly and jokes aside, I don't want my employees to work until late and be all cranky and can't do their job properly the next day. "Oh I'm sure he'll manage" she chuckled. "Well see you tomorrow then Anne," I said and she replied, "Of course, miss. Thirlwall, have a nice day". "you too Anne," making my way out of the building.

I got into my car and as I was about to drive off my phone rang. I immediately put it on speaker without checking who was calling me and drive off.

"Thirlwall" I speak. "Hey, poopey!" it turns out to be my step-sister. "Ugh, Leigh, you know I hate it when you call me that," I said. She gave me that nickname for whatever reason she was thinking.

Leigh and I knew each other since we were basically still in the womb. Her parents and my parents were best friends. They basically grew up together. That was until when Leigh reach the age of 12, her parents got into a very bad car crash accident. She's an only child and has no one and her grandparents from both sides are all dead so she had never seen her grandparents just like me. The only difference is hers are dead and I don't know what happened to mine. I have never met my grandparents all my life, and I don't ask my parents about it because every time I tried to initiate it, my parents always try to avoid the subject that it's clear that they don't want to talk about it. So I don't bother to ask anymore and just have no idea if they're still alive or not. But it's okay really, because if i can managed to live without knowing them until now then I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, I mean I have a happy family without them so I'm fine about it.

Because Leigh's parents are an only child just like her, that means she has no uncle or aunt or even any sibling. So technically she's all alone. So, my parents decided to adopt her, and she became my sister ever since. Well, she was my sister before the adoption so, it's just a matter of legal or not in the eyes of the law and because the government was about to put her in the orphanage. It's not like it matters anyway, she'll always have been and will always be my sister.

"I know, which is why I chose that," she said giggling. "I hate you" I replied. "I love you too. And anyway, I want to tell you that tomorrow you will be coming with me to a party" she said, well more like demanded. "Leigh, I don't have time for this, I got-"I said before she cut me off. "You got a lot of work to do, I know. You said that so many times. But come on Jade, I told my friend you'll come. Plus, you barely have time for me anymore you-" I cut her off before she finished "Don't you dare try to guilt-trip me, Leigh". "Okay fine, but it's true though, we never hang out anymore and tomorrow is friday so please? It will start at 8," she said and I can tell that she was pouting and I know that she was not taking a "no" for an answer so there's no point in arguing. I let out a sigh "Fine, I'll come to the party, just send me the address". She squeals before talking again "I'll send you the address right away, love you!". "I love you too Leigh," I said before hanging up the phone and continuing my way to the bar and grill.
