Jade sat behind the table on a small stage, the bright lights illuminating her face as she smiled and chatted with fans on a meet and greet. She laughed and posed for photos, radiating warmth and charm as she signed autographs. This was a day of joy, a celebration of her new release album. But just after she took a photo with a young girl, her phone buzzed in her pocket.

She took out her phone and saw her mom's name flashing on the screen. Jade stood up saying "Hold on a second guys, I'll be right back," before excusing herself a few feet from the crowd.

She answered the phone and said "hey, mom, what's up?"

There was a deafening pause on the other end. "Jade, umm... I need you to come to the hospital right now, the one near your house. It's your dad," her mom said with her voice cracking.

"W-what do you mean it's dad? Is it his heart? Is he okay?" She said as fear washed over her like a cold wave.

"There was an accident, It was uhh...It was a hit and run. He uhh... he's gone Jade,"

"What? No... mom you're better be joking right now," Jade said as chills of fear creeped in.

"Believe me, I wish I am. I'm really sorry baby," her mom said as she sniffles at the end.

"No, no, no... I'm on my way," she said as her lips started to quiver and tears began to pool in her eyes.

Jade hung up the phone and quickly searched for Leigh-Anne who came to the event with her. She found Leigh on the parking lot already crying with her hand covering her face and clutching her phone on the other.

Leigh Looked up after hearing footsteps coming towards her and saw a broken looking Jade. "We gotta go," Jade barely whispered trying her best not to cry in public.

They both went straight to the hospital in silent not knowing what to do, what to say or how to react to the heart wrenching news. Jade drove the car with her eyebrows frowned and her hands clutching the wheel so tightly that her hand turned white while Leigh just kept looking out the window. Leigh knew how much James, their dad, means to Jade. She knew that nothing can comfort Jade at the moment so she did the only thing she could do, she reached out for Jade's hand and held it to comfort her.

The second they arrived, they both ran inside the hospital. Both of them was feeling emotional, the only difference was how they act on their own emotions. The second they made it to their dad's room, Leigh went straight to their mom's embrace—crying in her arms meanwhile Jade went straight to see their dad.

Leigh and their mom broke the hug  after realizing that Jade hasn't made any  sound—no sniffles, no words, nothing. They looked at Jade only to see Jade with an unreadable expression. She just staring blankly at their dad's motionless body so Leigh approached her.

"Jade?" Leigh said putting her hand on Jade's shoulder.

"No. This isn't happening," Jade said without taking her eyes off of their dad before rushing out of the room leaving Leigh and their mom confused.

Leigh and their mom looked at each other obviously concerned. Before they could say anything or even react, all of a sudden they heard Jade shout "NO! DID YOU HEAR ANYTHING I JUST SAID?! HE'S NOT DEAD!"

They rushed out of the room and saw people trying to calm her down. "Miss Thirlwall, I'm gonna need you to calm down or else I have to call the security," a nurse said as he put his hands on Jade's upper arms.

"Get your fucking hands off me!" Jade shoved him before she punched him in the face.

"Call security!" A doctor said to another nurse as she checked on the nurse Jade just punched.
