Evelyn:
My senses heighten and my face is flushed crimson.
How did I not know Ransom would still be in this house with me...alone?
His car was gone, unless...he told Harlan to take his car instead so that he and I would be all alone...
Please tell me I did not just walk into a trap!
Ransom is walking closer and closer toward me, and I cannot move my body!
Get a hold of yourself! MOVE! Stop Ransom from invading your space!
I shut my eyes and focus on my hand. My fingers twitch, and I manage to hold up my hand just as I feel Ransom's sweater in front of me.
I can feel his muscles through the sweater!
"Evelyn..." Ransom's voice is mellow.
Just hearing Ransom say my name makes my legs shake, and my heart ache.
Oh what this man does to me!
I clear my throat to try and speak, but all that comes out my mouth is a squeaky noise.
"Why don't you sit down? It looks as if your legs are going to give in." Ransom quietly suggests.
I open my eyes and stare coldly into Ransom's eyes. As much as I want to move away from Ransom, I just can't seem to. It's like my body wants to stay here, with Ransom.
Well I did move my hand, but I need to move my entire body so I can leave this study.
Ransom huffs. "If you don't sit down, then I will make you sit down." he scolds out of the blue, like I'm a child who refuses to listen.
I should tell Ransom that I physically cannot move my body, but I won't. He will probably pick me up and carry me to the couch, and I don't want him to do that.
I clear my throat again. "Like I am going to listen to you." I flick my hair behind me, sounding like a spoilt brat.
Ransom inhales sharply. "Evelyn so help me..." he then exhales sharply.
I try to move my legs, and I succeed this time, but I am not sitting on the couch. "I'm leaving." I announce.
I walk past Ransom, but he grabs my arm. "And just where do you think you are going?"
I pretend to look confused. "Huh? I'm leaving, and let me go." I pull my arm away.
I walk toward the door, but Ransom grabs my arm again and throws me like a rag doll onto the couch, knocking the breath of me.
"What the fuck Ransom?" I shout.
"You are not leaving this study." Ransom scowls, kneeling in front of me.
I wriggle to try and get off the couch, but to no avail. Ransom uses his body to hold my legs together, and he puts his arms on either side of me so I cannot escape.
"You are going to listen to me, whether you like it or not." Ransom says, his eyes flashing with fury.
I continue to wriggle off the couch, which leads Ransom to eventually place his hands on my shoulders to hold me in place.
"Whatever!" I mumble in defeat, crossing my arms.
Ransom closes his eyes for a beat and then looks at me. "Just hear me out."
I shake my head. I place my fingers in each of my ears and I start making humming noises.
Ransom tightens his jaw and then pulls my hands away from my ears.
