ellie dropped herself on her bed the second she entered her bedroom. the week she had spend in brighton was not only fun but had also made her very tired. tigger laid down next to her and snuggled up against her.
she groaned when her phone started ringing, ellie got up from her bed and looked at the contact name, jack was calling her. she picked up and brought the phone up to her face.
"ARE YOU HOME?" jack yelled from the other side of the line. ellie chuckled at told him she was. jack told her he would go to her apartment in thirty minutes. they said goodbye and ellie hung up.
instead of waiting for jack to arrive ellie connected her phone with the tv speakers. so there she stood dancing in her living room with her cat following her wherever she went.
"you could eat the foam from the headrest" "you could knock the wind out of my breath" "you could kick the teeth into my head" "STILL, THERE'S NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN!"
ellie loudly sang the lyrics until she heard a knock on her door. she skipped towards the door and enthusiastically swung it open. jack entered her apartment and brought her into a firm hug.
"you're crushing my bones." ellie muttered into jack's shoulder. he chuckled and loosened his grip. they locked eyes and ellie smiled widely. jack eyes flickered down to ellie's lips for a second but got disturbed by a soft 'miauw' behind him.
jack let go of ellie and knelt down to pet tigger. after jack gave the cat enough attention he picked him up and carried tigger to the living room. ellie and jack talked about how their week was spent and what their plans for the next one were.

jack had left an hour ago and ellie was sat in her room with a bottle of wine next to her. she had been very nervous when jack entered her house. she thought back at what tommy had told her the previous day, 'he definitely likes you back'.
she took a sip from the alcoholic drink. the bottle was almost empty and ellie was quite drunk. the urge to just call jack and tell him about all the feelings she had for him was getting bigger with the minute. but she knew she couldn't.
instead of calling him she unlocked her phone and texted him, nothing that her song wouldn't tell him though.

ellie knew she would regret everything she had said the next day, but it felt so good. the alcohol really gave her a confidence boost. her eyes slowly started closing and she carefully threw her phone on her bed next to her.
when she looked at the clock on her nightstand it said, 12.03am, jack's birthday and the day her song would release. if only ellie knew what would happen this day.
