Chapter 16: Now You Stop Crying.

Jack's Pov:

"H- Hi." We heard a soft voice say. Adam immediately rushed over to her. "Hey, hey!" he said, chocking on tears. Ryan and I decided to wait outside to give them a moment. "I'm so glad she's awake." Ryan said as we stood outside. "Me too. I was beginning to think we were gonna be here all night." I replied. Ryan chuckled. "Me too." He smiled.

Adam's Pov:

Ryan and Jack went outside. Annie looked up at me smiling. "There's my beautiful girls smile." I said to her. I couldn't stop smiling at her. "I'm so glad you're awake." I said, caressing her forehead with my thumb. "M-me too." she replied. "Have a good sleep?" I asked, still leaning over her. "The best." She answered. I chuckled. "Good. You deserve it." I smiled. I kissed her, for the first time in ages. "I've missed you." She said. "Well you shouldn't have. I've been here the whole time." I replied. "Well not at night, the evil nurses wouldn't let me stay with you. Best believe I tried though." She set off laughing. Her laugh was the most amazing sound. She raised her hand to my face and wiped the tears from my eyes and cheeks. "Why are you crying?" She asked. "That's all i've done since the race." I said sitting down on her bed beside her. "Oh Adam. I'm not worth crying over." She started to tear up. "Don't say that. Your the most important thing in my life." I replied, wiping her tears. "Now you stop crying." I added. She chuckled. "What happened? How did I fall?" She asked after a while. "You don't remember?" "No. I only remember setting off for the race." I was pleased she didn't remember it but still concerned. "You were on A Cloudy Day, You didn't make it over the third hedge, he fell on top of you on the landing." I replied. She paused for a minute. "I should be dead." She replied. "What?" I asked confused. "He fell on top of me, hundreds of riders die from that every year. I got lucky." She replied. "Well I'm glad you did." I added.

Jack and Ryan entered the room. "Is it okay for us to come in now or-." Ryan asked. "Yeah it's fine come on." I said. They sat down beside her. "Afternoon, sleepy head." Jack said as he sat down. She chuckled and replied "Afternoon, Jack." "Hi Ryan." She added. "Hey." He said. "How are you feeling?" Jack asked. "I'm in a lot of pain, but mentally I'm okay." She smiled. "I'll get a nurse." Jack said as he got up and exited the room. Returning with a short fat lady a few minutes later. We waited outside whilst the nurse did what she had to do.

Annie's Pov:

"Ah Miss James." She said as she wheeled in a cart and pushed the front of my bed up. "How are we today miss?" She asked, getting a painkiller ready. "I'm in pain. All over my body." I answered. "That'll be gone soon for a while." She replied. "Do you remember what happened?" She asked. "No but Adam just told me."
"Ah okay, I've just got to run some tests and then I will go and Adam can come in again." she smiled, giving me the medication.

Once the tests had finished, she went out and Adam, Jack and Ryan came in. "How boring." I said as they sat down. They laughed and we talked about things I had missed for a bit. Another nurse came in. "Hi Anne, I just want to tell you that you may go home tomorrow morning, IF Adam and the others promise to look after you." She glared at them. "I'll give you a minute to decide whilst I get the papers." And out she went. "It's up to you." Adam said, turning to me. "I'd love to go home, but I'm not going to be able to walk." I chuckled. "We can help you." Jack said. "You and Adam can stay in the spare bedroom at our apartment and we will help you." Ryan added. "What about Marie?" I asked. "She can stay over at your place." Adam added. "Call her first." I replied.

Once we called Marie and she agreed to stay at Isobels apartment for a few months, I signed the papers and the boys got my things ready to leave first thing tomorrow. About an hour after, the nurse from before told us that they had to leave for the night. Ryan and Jack said goodbye and waited outside for Adam. Adam kissed my forehead. "Goodnight Annie, I love you." He said, letting go of my hand. "Night Adam, I love you too." I replied as he smiled at me and walked away.
