We stepped out into the mid day autumn air. The bell ringing once again, signaling our exit. Adam took my hand and we walked to his flat which was about 10 minutes away. He opened the door for me and i stepped inside, warm air instantly hitting me. "I'm so glad it's warm in here." I chuckled, turning to him. "Yeah, I'm not a fan of cold apartments." He answered as he took my coat. "Thank you." I said as we walked into the living room. "What would you like to watch?" He asked as he got the remote and sat down. "Whatever you want, I'm not picky." I replied. "Have you seen IT Chapter 1?" He asked, turning to me. "No actually, not a big fan of the clown stuff." I replied. "Neither is Jack but even he has watched it. Come on let's watch it."
"Okayyy." I nervously replied. "But first we need blankets and snacks." Adam said, standing up. "Oh and clothes that are actually comfy." He added, walking to his bedroom. "Have these." He threw grey sweat pants and a black sweatshirt. "Thanks." I walked over to the bathroom and got changed. Once I came out, Adam was in basically the same outfit that I was. He smiled at me as I looked up at him. "Matching." I said, putting on the converse he gave me earlier this morning. "Shopping?" He said, holding up a reusable shopping bag. "Yeah, let's go get some good stuff." I smirked. He drove us to Walmart, as I was unplugging my phone from the charging wire in Adam's car as we pulled up, Adam came round and opened the door for me. "Why thank you." I said as I jumped out. He smiled at me and said "Ready to put on a few pounds?" He asked chuckling as he took my hand and entered the store. "Sure." I laughed.
We spent ages walking around the isles. "Oh we have to get some chocolate milk." I said, putting it in the basket. "You like it too?" He asked in a surprised tone. "Yeah of course, who doesn't?" I laughed. He smiled and we made our way to the candy and chocolate isle. "Popcorn?" Adam asked. "Yeah sure, I like any version so get what you want." I replied. "Oh and we should make a giant cookie! I've always wanted to do that!" I said, turning to Adam. "Yeah, good idea." he smiled.
We exited the store with Adam carrying a bag full of all kinds of chocolate and candy. He opened the car door for me and we drove home, we spent pretty much the hole time laughing about stupid stuff. Once we arrived back at Adam's apartment and unpacked everything, we got started straight away with the cookie, looking at methods online. "This is going to be awesome." I said as I rolled out all the dough together. "It sure is." Adam smiled. "We just have to put it in the oven now, then afterwards we can decorate it." He finished up. He put the dough into a large pizza sized tray and put it in the oven. "How long for?" He asked. "25 minutes." I answered. "Ah okay, well shall we start the movie now or once we've decorated it?" "Once we've decorated it, I wouldn't want to have to pause the movie at a good bit." I replied. "Good point." he shrugged.
"Shall we go sort out the blankets and stuff whilst we wait?" He asked. "Yeah sure okay." I slid down from the counter top and we walked over to his bedroom. We grabbed pillows and blankets and went back to the living room where he blurted out. "Wanna make a fort?" He asked, giving a childish grin. "Good idea." I replied, returning the smirk.
We spent the whole time pushing the couch on to the side to use as a back. them we put a big blanket over it and it became dark inside. Adam quickly rushed to his room before returning a few minutes later with some LED fairy lights. "Give us some light." He laughed as he went into the fort and hung them up. "Now we just need pillows and the rest of the blankets on the floor so we are comfortable." He got up and smiled at me. "Okay well if you do that, I'll go sort the rest of the snacks out. I'm getting our moneys worth tonight." I laughed. "Okay." he replied. I walked to the kitchen and pulled out a few plates and mugs. "Hot chocolate?" I shouted to the living room. "Please." He replied.
Once I had sorted everything out, Adam pulled up IT on his computer and set it under our fort. "We are like children." I said, causing Adam to laugh, walking into the living room with our drinks and food, before Adam took a plate off me, helping me out. "Thank you." I said. "Now let's decorate this cookie!" I said as we entered the kitchen, staring at all the stuff we bought to decorate it. "Icing first." He said. "And I know the perfect design." He smirked. He spent ages drawing out the words "Neothearter AJR" on top of the cookie. I loved it. "That's so cute!" I said as he showed it to me. "It's perfect!" I added. He smiled and we put loads of sprinkles around the edges, along with extra icing and edible stickers to decorate it with. As we sat down, beneath the fort. We placed everything down and I snuggled up next to Adam whilst we watched the movie, stuffing our faces and trying to keep warm.
