"Adam can you come in here for a sec?" she asked as she came out. "Yeah sure." We stood in the bathroom. "I need you to wait with me." I held her hand and smiled at her. "If it comes back positive, I won't be able to race until he or she is born." Annie said. "I know ." I answered. "But then that's a lot of money we will lose that we need. And how are we going to deal with this whilst you're on tour?" She asked. "Annie, we will manage it, and it might be negative we don't know." I chuckled. She took a deep breath and looked at her phone. "It's been two minutes." She looked up at me, worry in her eyes. "Want me to look?" I asked. She nodded. I picked up the pregnancy test, with my eyes closed, not wanting to know the answer myself. "Ready?" I asked. "I guess." She replied.
I opened my eyes, and felt my heart shatter into a thousand pieces. "Negative." I looked at Annie, who's eyes had filled with tears. "That's what we wanted right?" I slowly nodded in agreement as my eyes too, started to fill with tears. She let out a loud cry and fell into my arms. I started to cry too. We sat and cried together in the bathroom for about half an hour. It was a strange experience, I feel that we are ready to have a child now, the money is good and we have no debts, the band is going well and we don't have any tours planned for the foreseeable future. However with the races, it was good that it was negative because it meant that Annie could carry on with her racing. So why did it hurt so much?
Later that night, when Annie and I were in bed, she turned to me and asked "Do you plan on having a baby Adam?" "Yeah." I replied, smiling. "I'd like to get married first though." I smiled. "Yeah." She replied. "Do you see yourself ever marrying me?" She asked. Taken back by the question, I hesitated for a second. "Do you see yourself marrying me?" I asked her back. "Well yeah. We've been together about a year now, we know eachother better than any one else, we already live together, so yeah, i do." She replied. "If you're brave enough to propose of course." She smiled. I raised and eyebrow. "Brave enough? Of course I'm brave enough." I smiled back. "Why don't you do it then?" She turned and lay on her front. "I didn't know that you wanted to get married." I smiled. "Well I do. And I expect a proposal soon." She smiled. I smiled back and pulled her into a hug. "That's enough questions for one night." I replied.
