Cabin Life: A Dawsey-Linstead Story

3 Days Later at the Halstead Family Cabin in Cedar Lake, Indiana:
Matt's POV: As I laid down in bed with Gabby, I couldn't held but sigh considering we were not at home but instead...we were currently at Jay's family cabin in Indiana. However, at least we were safe and here for the rest of the summer. Between Gabby's premature delivery, us loosing our home and just a whole bunch of other things that have happened...the CFD benched me until further notice and I am subject to monthly psychological tests. That means I am off until further notice on my paternity leave. Not that I was complaining because that gave me a lot of time with the woman I love and our 3 beautiful children. Rolling over after waking up, I smiled as I went to wrap my arm around Gabby's waist and then went to kiss her back softly. "Quickie?"

Gabby laughed when I said that before going to roll over in my arms. "Matt, the babies and Louie could wake up any minute. We do not have time to get close to one another in bed. Believe me, I want nothing more than for you to take me in your arms and just give me a bunch of pleasure." I smiled when she said that and nodded as I went to kiss her softly. "You know that I love you like crazy right? I don't care where we live anymore. As long as you are safe in my arms...I am a happy man." Gabby smiled when I said that before putting her hand on my face. Rubbing my lips, she then went to kiss me softly until we heard Louie walk into our room. "Daddy?" I then looked up at him and smiled at him. "Hey buddy, how did you sleep last night?"

Louie then walked over to us so that he could join us in bed. Letting Gabby go, I just went to sit down and watched as Louie came to cuddle up to us. That only meant one thing, he had a bad dream last night. "Everything okay bud? You know that you can talk to us right? We are here for you and we are always going to want to help you." Kissing his forehead, I watched as Gabby rolled over in bed and sat up a bit. "When are we going home daddy?" I then sighed and looked at him. "Bud, we don't know that yet. You remember that last fire daddy went on?" Louie nodded when I asked him that. "Well, it was our home. Our home burned down...that's why we're here. We are here because it's safer to be here. Daddy needed to get away for his health."

Louie nodded when I said that before going to cuddle up to us. Wrapping her arm around him, Gabby smiled as Louie did that. I then went to do the same until I heard the babies wake up. "Of course, right when I am getting comfortable with the two of you." Gabby laughed when I said that and agreed with me. "How about you go get them and I can feed them? Once that's done, can you go upstairs and see if Jay made breakfast?" I nodded when she said that, kissing her back one last time before going to grab some of my shorts as well as a long sleeve shirt. Looking at Gabby after I got dressed, I smiled at her. "I think I might spent a bit of time with Jay today. Sorry but, I think I need some guy time after all this stress. Maybe we can throw the football."

Gabby smiled when I said that and agreed with me. "Honestly, that sounds like a lot of fun." Walking over to my dresser, I went to grab a swimsuit and just smiled at her. "Actually, I think I might just wear my swim trunks okay? I want to take a swim later with you. We can let Jay and Erin get practice being parents to twins and a third child...you need to come out with me because we are owed some time alone. I am going to talk to Jay about it. And don't even say anything...you said it before we left Chicago. So if we can get it here, then we are going to get it. Plus, it means that I will get some time with that gorgeous ass of yours while we take a swim!" Gabby just shook her head when I said that. "You saw the bikini I brought didn't you?"

I nodded and smirked when she said that. "Yeah, I did. And I am definitely going to get some of that later...alone in the water out back. You are not depriving me of an opportunity to do that." Going to take off my boxers, I went to put my swim trunks on before looking at Louie. "You going to come upstairs with daddy Louie or are you going to stay down here with momma?" Louie then turned to look at me and went to cuddle up to Gabby. "I stay with mamma for a while." I nodded and agreed with him. "Want me to bring the twins' new cribs closer?" Gabby then smiled and nodded. Rolling them over to her, I went to set them up. "Thanks for buying all this so fast." I nodded and smiled while going to lean over her. Kissing her quickly, I smiled. "My pleasure."

Gabby then went to grab my hand and just smiled at me. "You are the best, you know that right?" I nodded and smiled when she said that. "And really cocky. I have already told you that Matthew, you being cocky is not attractive." I nodded and agreed with her. I also knew that when she said Matthew that I was close to getting in trouble. "Okay, no need to go all Matthew on me okay? Just take a breath and just relax for me okay?" Gabby nodded and smiled when I said that. "You do realize that the only reason I call you Matthew is because I know that it bugs you." I laughed and agreed with her when she said that. "Sure, that's the only reason that you do it." She nodded and smiled at me. "And because it is my loving husband's name."

I smiled when she said that before going to grab a shirt out of my suitcase. "And promise me that you aren't going to wear your long sleeve shirt if we decide to go swimming?" I turned to look at her and sighed. "You know that I burn really easily Gabby." Gabby then looked at me and shook her head. "You just want to wear it because you know it drives me crazy." I laughed and agreed with her. "Oh does it now? I didn't notice." Gabby just laughed when I said that and agreed with me. "Shut up and just go upstairs, talk to Jay and Erin. Make us breakfast too and see whether we are going to stay around here and use the pools with the kids or if we are heading to the beach." I then thought about it. "Beach, me and you this morning...pool with kids later."

Gabby liked the sound of that and smiled as I finished putting my shirt on. "I love that idea. Can you talk to Jay and Erin about it? I would love to just get some time alone with you. We still have to talk about that scare we had last night." I then looked at her. "I know, I swore that we were more careful than that." Gabby sighed and nodded. "Babe, we really need to talk. Are we really going to continue being this reckless? I am not sure that I am comfortable being in Chicago if we are going to try for another kid." I sighed when she said that. "We are not trying again. Gabby, I was scared to loose you again last time around. We are not going through that again. Now like I just said, take a breath...relax and just be with Louie for a bit. I'll be back with breakfast."

Gabby agreed with me. "Hey, make sure that you ask them. As much as I love being here with the kids..." I understood what she meant, she needed a bit of time alone with just me. "I know babe, I feel the same way. We need time alone with each other to just get off some stress. I still feel like you still have some from when you were in the hospital anyways." Gabby sighed and nodded when I said that. "Wait, you do?" Gabby nodded. "Then why didn't you tell me Gabby? I am here for you. I am always going to be here for you. Would you rather I stay down here and talk to you for a bit or..." Gabby shook her head. "Can you go get us breakfast and just relax? Matt, I am fine." I sighed and nodded. "I'll be back soon." Giving her a quick kiss, I then left to head upstairs and get us some breakfast.
