Chapter 25

"Kira!" Sakura calls as we come to a stop. Being out of the fog I can finally feel what is around me. Sakura and Naruto come running and I could swear I felt Kakashi pause and his arms tighten around me slightly. Raising my head I look over to them and smile.

"Hey." I say plainly as they smile widely.

"Are you ok? What happened?" Naruto asks and I couldn't help but reach up and rub my ear closest to him with a frown.

"I got caught up in the Tsunami and my tree fell on me." I shrug before wiggling my toes and bending my ankle to test my healing. Patting on Kakashi's chest I slip out of his hold and tentatively stand at first. Making sure my leg will hold my weight before ever standing on it fully. "See, all better." I smirk and put my hands on my hips.

"Wouldn't expect anything less from you." Naruto laughs as Sakura smiles making me shrug again.

"Good, how about we go inside. Sakura, Naruto. You're on first watch." Kakashi says before walking towards an overly large wooden building that was really out of place. I tilt my head looking up at it curiously before glancing to Yamato who was following Kakashi. Talk about a handy skill. What he do? Summon this thing out of nowhere? Shaking my head I move to catch up to the two Jonin.

"I have already sent Pakkun to Lady Tsunade to inform her of this situation. I'm not sure if finding Orochimaru's hideout takes precedence any more." Kakashi informs me from over his shoulder.

"What do you mean, Kakashi. Did something happen?" I ask wondering if it is because of that energy coming from the lake.

"That's right you were MIA." Kakashi stops just inside of the building and puts his hands in his pockets as he turns to face me. "I sent Naruto out to the lake when we went to confront the enemy. He witnessed the Three tails and our enemy was fighting it."

"The three tails?" I ask him feeling my heart race but I fight to keep control of myself. The three tails, here? What are the chances? "Are you sure?"

"Yes, it seems the Akatsuki has not captured it yet, and Orochimaru wants his hands on it too. Either to further his own military strength or to keep it out of the Akatsuki's hands." I see.

"That would mean we should try to capture it ourselves because either way it would spell disaster for everyone." I comment making Kakashi smile with a nod.

"My thoughts exactly. So for now we await Lady Tsunade's orders while trying to keep our enemies from obtaining the tailed beast."

"And continuing our mission. With any luck we can kill two birds with one stone." I smile as Kakashi nods and walks up the stairs to one of the rooms up there. Once he disappears I lean against a wall near the stairs. To be honest the leaf never had much for luck. I nearly smirk to myself. Reaching into my pouch I retrieve my canteen. Bringing the cold metal to my lips and allowing the chilled sticky liquid to slide down my throat.

It wasn't long until Kiba, Sai, and Akamaru come down the stairs drawing my attention. "Going out?" I ask making Kiba laugh. "Almost forgot you haven't been on a mission like this. We are going out to relieve Sakura and Naruto of their posts." -Oh, I see.- I thought and give him a nod turning back to my own thoughts as I close my eyes. Letting them leave without any further delay.

Sighing I lean my head back against the wall. -I wonder if I should have offered to go on watch too.- I think silently to myself before the door of the building slams open. "Kakashi Sensei!" Sakura yells, her voice echoing through the walls with her urgency. Yamato and Kakashi come running to the wooden railing out of the room they had just been in. "What is it,Sakura?" Kakashi calls down to her taking in her wide eyes. "It's Naruto, he's gone!"
