For the past half-moon, Brambleclaw had never been happier. He'd been training each night alongside his father and brother, and he'd been meeting up with Stormberry, who had shown him a different side of life.
As far as he knew, no cat was suspicious of his actions.
Not his clanmates. Not his father. No one suspected a thing.
If only he knew how wrong he was. If only he knew what the world had in store for him in the near future.
In those moments that he lived in peace, there were dark forces at work. Dark forces among him even. Brambleclaw didn't know it quite then, but if he had stopped to look at his life a little closer he may have come to realize what secrets those around him held.
If only he knew he wasn't the only one with a secret nearby.
There were so many things that, if Brambleclaw had known, would have changed events that would soon come to pass.
